I hate to be "that guy," but i will anyway

I've played all the console versions and I can't decided between them....they all are really amazing games that my friends and I have had too many countless hours having fun playing them

bottom line...Mario Kart is awesome!

Don't get me wrong, the DS and Wii editions of Mario Kart are great. I just like the co-op kart aspect of Double Dash. That and the fact that each character pairing got a unique special weapon.

 

Unfortunately, they took out my two favorite features from Double Dash in MKWii and they took out mulitplayer campaign. I'm not playing Mario Kart alone to unlock all that crap, I'd rather do it with another person.

  • Luigi's Mansion, by far the best track ever for battle mode
  • shine thief, by far the best way to do battle mode
  • giant bananas, bowser shells, eggs, hearts, and chain chomps

My friend, partner, and I just finished a 32 race, solo, vs and we had such a blast. I ended up losing by 1 point overall. I guess this is why I voted for Mario Kart Wii :).

Double Dash by a wide margin.

MK Wii is horrible. There are far too many blue shells and other annoying items that punish you for doing well beyond anything in the series before. If you're in first place, expect to suffer blue shell/red shell/lightning/ink/ground pound while picking up only bananas and fake blocks. [My absolute favorite is when I get blue shelled THEN hit by another item like a red shell or lightning.] Bikes are stupidly superior to karts. There are less characters/karts/modes than DD. And worst of all, the decision to cut co-op Grand Prix was so mind-numbing asinine that I'm half-convinced that I'm somehow making it up.

This game has so much more content than the other Mario Kart games. The mechanics just feel right too.
