Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why don't you own a Wii, 360, or PS3 in 2010?!?

I have a PS3 and Wii because I've always had Sony and Nintendo Consoles all my life and love all the franchises each console had to offer and I'll continue to support Sony and Nintendo and buy their games.

I don't have a X360 for the following reasons (not in any particular order):

1) Games - If I owned a X360 right now, the only games I'd have are Halo 3, Halo: ODST and Gears of War 1 & 2. 4 Games... Why? Mass Effect series? Left 4 Dead series? Already got them on PC. Nor am I interested in the other 360 exclusive series which includes Forza, Fable, Crackdown, etc. Upcoming games? Alan Wake? Don't give a damn about it. Splinter Cell? Don't give a damn either. Even if I did care, PC has me covered. Natal? Nope, not interested. The only upcoming game I'd care about is Halo Reach.

2) Too much other things to buy - Gotta buy a wifi adaptor. Gotta pay for Xbox Live. Gotta pay for another controller. Gotta buy a bigger harddrive. OMFG...

So in the end, there's really no need for me to get a 360 right now nor am I planning to in the near future either.

I'm happy with what my PS3, Wii, DS, PSP and PC has to offer and it shall be like that for a long long time.

my reason a exctually the same as cross for the 360.

My sis has a WII and some of the games on the WII do appeal to me, iam not lossing when it comes to 360 "console exclusive" nor iam lossing much on 360 "exclusives" no problem for me,the world wont end if i dont play any 360 exclusive. because i can find other better games that appeal to me on the PS3.

Owning a second console means investing more money. I'm a student, so the PS3's current price is at the same level as my available money for food, clothing etc. I'm able to spend monthly (excluding the rent for my home). As for the HD twins you need a HDTV to 'unleash' the best graphics. This means investing more money which I don't have. Well, money which I don't have until summer :P. (Thanks to my two jobs)

There are still not enough great games on the Wii that would justify a purchase for me.

Oh and I think I have enough games to play at the moment.

360: Well on my way, I just need some more cash so I can buy some games and stuff for it as well!

Wii: Still way too expensive here, expensive games and not nearly enough software incentive compared to the 360 to warrant a purchase.

I own Wii & 360 the reason I haven´t bought PS3 is that it´s still not worth the price it costs.

You're right its worth more.

Hardly, it´s was way overpriced to begin with and still is.

Well would you look at that...

PS3 is at $299 now.. And STILL people are calling it overpriced. Talk about cheap people..

Wow, all I can say.

you just dont read all the responses do you?

299 was the price it should have been from the start, the value of the PS3 went down with each and every one game that I could get on 360 instead of PS3.

Today the value of having PS3 for me stands on 3 games MGS, Heavy Rain and Wipeout and paying 300$ to play 3 games is not worth it so the value of the PS3 is way overpriced.

When Sony lost Tekken and FF the value went efectivly to 200$ and sinking with every bit of time passing by.

Also money has no bearing here since I could aford one easely and have bought 3 360´s over time so I wouldnt call me cheap because of that.

I only own a PS2 and I'm lucky for it, is not like here in Brazil, or likely the rest of the world, the prices are double or even more than the originals in USA. You wonder why USA is the biggest Video-market in the world? If prices weren't that high, you people would see the industry as whole much bigger than is now.

Above: still the best game of the year.

For me, it's all about the games. The Wii has nothing that really interests me right now and since I hate FPS/TPS there's not much the 360 has to offer to me either.

The only 360 exclusives I'm interested in are two JRPGs - Lost Odyssey & Tales of Vesperia - and 2 games just aren't worth the investment.

PS3 is still extremely expensive 299 pounds is a lot of money.

Majority of games are now Multiplat, so i have access to pretty much all games i want to play. Ps3 exclusive games that I really want are: Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4.

Plus my parents just bought a blu ray player, so whenever i come home from University i can enjoy HD movies without PS3.

I have every console and handheld this gen of gaming, all except for the wii...

BWAHAHAHA! I got a 360 today so I have all of them! ^_^

Though.... it was expensive...
