So it's around 10 points difference in AVERAGE between a PS3 exclusive and a PC/360 console exclusive, which is huge and mathematically (statistically) impossible unless they're 360 biased or being 360 fanboys.

The other explanation would be they favor the shooter / FPS genre dominating on 360 (6 on 11 games reviewed), but then again, games like Resistance, Resistance 2, Killzone 2 wouldn't have been rated so much under their Meta then, so this explanation is wrong.

Conclusion : Edge is strongly 360 biased.



How is that a proof exactly? Does every review has to match the MetaCritic score in order to be fair?

Nobody wants an exact match of Metacritic scores, but you've gotta admit there is a definate trend...

For people asking, if a reviewer rates in average EVERY 360 exclusive game 10 points higher relative to meta than EVERY PS3 exclusive relative to meta, then yeah, of course he's biased.

Maths say they are. A random deviation (no bias) couldn't occur on such a big number of reviews. And it wouldn't be so huge. That's like winning at lottery far too often.

No other website / reviewer exhibits such big deviation.

Edge is mathematically biased towards 360 (10 points in average, that's huge).

I wouldn't say biased at all. I'd say exactly what the rest of the industry should be doing.

When did a '7' become a bad score? It's meant to stand for 'Good and worth buying.'

If they are baised, it's towards FPS and shooters but that's about it, in the end it's down to the reviews preference and the editers say so.

They rate some games a tad different than I expect sometimes but overall I like their score better than the perfect 10's and 100's that have been raining down this gen every which direction.

inconsistency actually demonstrates a lack of bias.

they do not have a party line.... they have a bunch of individuls that review as they see fit.

Yeah Edge is biased but so what? Playstation Official Magazine is always giving PS3 exclusives higher scores than 360's.

Or maybe metacritic statistically has more poor PS3 biased reviewers on the book for 360 games which hence drag the 360 titles metacritic rating artificially lower than it should be. Using Metcritic as some tool of statistical accuracy when taking into account the huge number of flaws in its model is frankly pathetic and shows the bias of those agreeing with such analysis to be anti 360 in this case rather than unbiased.

It should be a bannable offense on this site to start yet another thread regarding Edge being anti PS3, wah, wah, wah.
