LoL is too simple. It's like DOTA but takes away a lot of the little things that seperate the noobs from the pros in DOTA. So like someone said above this is better for new players or people who are not that good at the genre. It is still fun i just always feel like i should be playing dota. There are a lot of things that LoL improved over dota as well but they are not in the main gameplay mechanics, they are mostly in connections issues, the servers, masteries etc.

If you want a game that takes a lot of skill, maybe you should look at Demigod.

I was never that impressed with DOTA.  I owned on that because I found an obscure ability on a character nobody played and exploited it with items.

you mind being more specific?  I kinda doubt it is that good that you can own anyone.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Not to start a flame war xD but i prefer Heroes of Newerth. They're both very well designed DotA games, but HoN just seems like the more pure version of DotA. Still give this a shot though, its fun.

Currently own: PC (duh), SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP.

I think HoN is better. Tried LoL this morning and the artstyle, UI, animations etc was horrible imo.

So, the worst thing you can say is the graphics are bad?  Animations are just fine btw.  The game was designed to be able to be run on almost any computer.

I did no such thing. I said the Artstyle, User Interface and animations were horrible. I can also add the maps, the HUD and the hero pool. Graphics dosent really matter in these type of games.

How did you guys play Heroes of Newerth?

Most people seem to like Heroes of Newerth a whole lot more. I haven't tried League of Legends, so not saying it's bad by any means, but personally I'm keeping myself to HoN.

I read your posts about Heroes of Newerth and decided to do a simple League of Legends vs Heroes of Newerth google search. This is what I came up with:

I decided, from what I read, that I still like League of Legends better, though I will try Heroes of Newerth to make sure. These are the things I've noticed:
- League of Legends is developed by Steve Feak, the primary designer of DOTA all-stars. Not the only thing that matters, but is a plus.
- League of Legends is remarked as an evolution of DOTA, where Heroes of Newerth is said to be a remake.
- League of Legends has more unique champions, while many in Heroes of Newerth are retreads of DOTA champs.
- League of Legends userbase is more friendly while HoN userbase are more elitists.
- HoN has more polish, for still being in beta, but LoL is improving rapidly. Many of the things I am reading from a few months ago has already been fixed.
- League of Legends has low system requirements and is free to play. This has already helped bring in many of my friends to the game who would not have played it otherwise. Ensures a larger userbase.
- Free to play vs. Pay to play shows more promise. Free to play games recieve a lot more revenue over a longer period of time than the alternative. LoL has already showed they are willing to use the money to make meaningful updates.
- In LoL, PvP is important but not the end-all. I prefer this, cause I usually play tank supporting character is these types of games. Most games like this underpower tank supporting characters. I don't see that in LoL. Also, the team who gets the most kills is not necessarily the team that wins (though it helps a lot).
- LoL seems to be more creative and lighthearted in it's character/level design. This creates some very unusual champions and creates it's own style for the game.

Not to say HoN doesn't have some nice features. It is currently more polished and has more features than LoL. However, I will stick with LoL (and Demigod) mainly for now.

Is it really said LoL?

lol

yea, it throws me off every time I see it in a sentence now.  I guess I will start using lqtm now (laughing quietly to myself).
