I'd say it's all based on people's preferences.

I have no problem using a plain old keyboard. In fact, the keyboard I use is 7 years old. For the mouse, however, I use the Logitech G5 revision 2 (has the blue finish).

For keyboards, I just use my generic HP keyboard, but I have a Logitech G13 gameboard I use for extensive gaming. If you don't want a separate gameboard from the keyboard, I recommend the Logitech G15.

For mice, a lot depends on your hand size, what weight you prefer, what sensitivity you game at, etc. Best thing is just to try the one that feels comfortable but has the performance you need. Logitech and Razer are both good companies with gaming mice.

You'd ideally want a good mouse surface too at a sufficient size and surface composition to fit your playstyle.

All I know is after I switched to laser from optical, I will never again use an optical mouse.

I just have a generic Microsoft keyboard, but my mouse is a Logitech G5.

I also want to know about good mice, because the $5 ones I have already went crazy :P

Microsoft comfort curve 200 keyboard. Honestly has the best keys ever.

Microsoft 2000 dpi gaming mouse. It has a good shape, I hate dragging my fingers on the mouse pad.

I've had two Razer mice in my life (Copperhead and Diamondback), and they have been great. I would definitely recommend a Razer mouse.

i will probably just get the logitech g5 and yes squilliam i actually love my microsoft curve keyboard :D
