Forums - PC Discussion - I am converting

I bought a PS3 a few years back, just to end the installing hassle of pc games. I remember Oblivion, sound issues, game freezing, searching the net for solutions, tweaks. I bought Oblivion for the PS3, just popped it in and played (still a flaky game though). Unfortunately I hadn't had a console since the N64, and I forgot how lame controllers are for FP shooters. Jesus, why can't a game company come up with a controller with a built in marble mouse for aiming??! I use a Logitech marble on the PC, works great. I also wanted to quit the cycle of having to upgrade cpu, then video, then cpu, then video...to play newer games. MAKE THE GAME DEVELOPERS DO THE WORK TO GET A GAME TO PLAY ON MY PS3, INSTEAD OF MAKING ME PAY AND UPGRADE MY PC TO PLAY THE NEWEST GAMES!

Yeah ... just learn the keyboard/mouse setup. It's vastly superior in genres like FPS and RTS.

I only get trophies for PS3 exclusives. Like Uncharted 2 and the God of War collection. But yeah, I spent a thousand bucks on a PC. Shit I am gonna use it to play games in the best graphical quailty I can. As long as I can use a controller lol. Also I know keyboard/mouse is pimp and all. But I have this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypermobility  so having my hand on the WASD for a while starts to hurt my knuckles and wrist. It takes longer to happen with a controller.

Wow thats Hypermobility thing looks....painfull lol.

Ehh, yes and no. I can do somethings most people cant. But other things just kill my joints. I cant type from the home keys. i have to use 2 fingers. lol one on each hand.

LOL I was looking at the pictures. And I can do all the things but the last one with my hands and fingers. I have it in pretty much every joint. So yeah. I certainly have reasons why I prefer a controller :]

You should pick up a wireless controller for your PC, its an Xbox 360 controller with a 2.4Ghz dongle. I hate having cords snaking around my PC so im getting one of those.

Tease.

my ould friend kirk! How are you!

Also. eh seems like a lot of work. Will I need to set up any software? I don't really care too much about the wires. It is annoying when it tangles with my keyboard and headset though. >.> oh and whoever asked if I have steam, yes I do. My account is Raoh52. anyone can add me if they would like.

Great man, thanks! I had to wake up at 4.40am this morning due to an evil dog which I won't name.

Its plug and play, so you don't have to worry, and its a Microsoft controller on a Microsoft operating system, it'll plug in and work first time most likely.

I love PC gaming. IMO its the best platform out there.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Anyone here have css?

IMO while PC gaming may offer the best "Game" experience it definitely doesn't offer the best "Gaming" experience.  What I mean is PC Gaming has numerous pitfalls all in the name of leading edge graphic capabilities.  To start with, PC use is not as simple to install, upgrade, obtain and manage DLC and the there is the OS to deal with.  Console gaming allows plug and play gaming without management which makes it easier for people of all ages.  PCs also don’t have mandated standards across ALL games for consistency and native functionality.  As for families, PCs are a dangerous proposition without (or an additional layer of software/management) control over what younger users can or should not access.  As for keyboard and mouse, they can be great for some games but for the ones who want to use controllers, mouse/keyboard/modified controllers become an unfair edge when games are allowing mixed input device controls (ie. Shooters).  Having said that I now prefer controllers over mouse as controllers slow the pace just a bit and requiring offer a different type of skill (not just twitch accuracy) to be a good player.  Controllers have also saved me from any Carpel wrist issues (which is what was happening to me).  One other big factor for PC gaming is hacking/moding of games which causes a lot of frustrations (ie. hacked characters).

Just a few thoughts on the topic.  Sorry for the block of text.
