Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii gets Alone in the Dark

I'm more looking forward to Fatal Frame 4, which is a Wii exclusive. First of all, I like Fatal Frame better as a series. Second, because it's exclusive, there are no fears of a PS2 port and all development effort can be concentrated on one version, thus optimizing it.

Ugh... you forgot the biggest reason why Fatal Frame 4 sounds hot: it's being made by Grasshopper. Suda's non horror games are already creepy, how might that be?

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Very good point.  I love Suda as a developer and I can't wait to see what he ends up doing with this already creative IP in the horror genre.  Oh, and the Wiimote is a great idea for controlling the camera.

Sweet. With Disaster: DoC, Fatal Frame IV, Sadness, and now this announced, not to mention the best version of RE4 and RE:UC already out, AND every RE game and Eternal Darkness available via Gamecube back-compat, the Wii is quickly becoming a Mecca for survival horror games. I couldn't be more pleased. :)

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Games i'm currently playing:

Wasn't Alone in the Dark the game that spawned the 2nd worst, if not the worst movie of all time?

I don't have much of a hope for this on the PS2/Wii. There are some screenshots on the-magicbox - and it looks pretty crap. It also has a release date of NOW - which I hope is wrong.

I can only hope the PS2/Wii versions were done as an after-thought - so they don't ruin the main builds.

...

Then again everyone - this IS Atari. We all know how well THEY are doing these days.

Atari isn't publishing crap because they're not doing well.

Atari isn't doing well because they keep publishing crap.

so aloe in the dark probably won't happen now due to atari finally dying. http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/14/atari-ceo-resigns-as-company-exits-game-development/
