Internet charts and polls don't translate to sales. Neither do preorders. Wii U was breaking preorder records when it was releasing, but look how that turned out. Selling better than the PS3 did in 3 years, but still bad on Nintendo standards. In the end it's really about who will have the most appealing library for the better price...

For the core Sony fanbase, this news means little to nothing to them (at least it doesn't for now), but for the success of the PS4 as a marketed next generation console, statistically, this is potentially bad news for the company (not significantly bad though, just missing out on potential cash).
