Sorry for spoiling anything. Guess since Aldro started to talk saying spoilers, I went ahead and told him my impressions as well.
Even if I told you the whole story, you'd be missing a lot for not playing it. That game is intense sometimes. No spoiler will detract from the fun, though I can understand that knowing the ending already might give away some things.
Anyways i've played a lot of games with really terrible ending but if the rest of the game is fine then i'll be ok with it.
Thought we were already friends here xD At least we're on PSN!
Want to play something on the future? I just finished Demon's Souls.
Anyways sure we can play some games together. And you just finished my favourite game this gen. How'd you feel.
I felt puzzled. For example, the mid-bosses were way harder in Demon's than in Dark Souls (El Empalador in Spanish was a bitch). It surely was more challenging keeping your souls until you could go back to the Nexus to level up instead of leveling up whenever you wanted in Dark Souls. However, the Archdemons, and the Final Boss are almost an insult to the player xD (King Allant was like "KILL MEH". He didn't even defend himself, and you don't get to fight the Old One :( ) They made an incredible set-up to Maiden Astraea on the Valley of Defilleness (or whatever it is called) just to go to her, talk and she suicides. What-the-fuck.
The ending was shitty, but at least there was someone explaining what happened to you. In Dark Souls the ending was like "FUCK YOU" - credits. Better with Demon's Souls here.
Weapons are ALMOST USELESS. There weren't any sword, or axe or bow in particular that stand out of the crowd. Even the ones you forged are particulary forgettable. The Uchitagana made a difference in Dark Souls. In Demon's Souls, it was just another sword with a bit more damage but incredible low break-ratio.
I'd say both games are gems of this generation. Kudos to Demon's Souls, 'cause it came first and Dark Souls had more time to fix some issues.
I do feel that the lore and story is better in Demon's Soul then in Dark Souls. If Sony would of published DS in the west then they would of expand on it -_-
Do you try the MP in Demon's Souls it was much more simple without the covenant bull$ and much more easy to find players since you can only inv players at the begin of a stage.
Yes, weapons aren't as memorable its all about the stats of your character however i think magic in Demon's Souls are way more easy to use and get into then in Dark Souls.
The bosses are a lot more memorable in Demon's Soul since each of them are unique and they dont become common enemies aka like moonlight butterfly. How it was disappointing. Then the final boss is also the easiest boss in the game. :/
When i started playing Demon's Souls i was brought into this amazing and wonderful would that i have never seen before. Maybe thats why i hold this game in such high regards.
Those fucking bastards at From Software still haven't replied on my beta asses code for Dark Souls 2 D:<
The MP is fairly simple, yeah. But then it is also horrible that you're restricted to the Soul Level! (Over Soul Level 70 and the online is dead!). 30-50 Soul Level is the beast since there's always players on that.
Yeah, magic definitively work better in Demon's Souls. But it's underpowered. It was way too overpowered in Dark Souls. From Software has not find the balanced note yet. (Maybe in Dark Souls 2?)
It's what I was telling you: Mid-bosses were better in Demon's than in Dark. However, Archdemons were just useless. You had the Four Kings in Dark, that Cristal Dragon, Nito the Gravelord and the Bed of Chaos, just to end up with that Dead King whose name I don't remember. On the other hand, you have in Demon's Souls that gigantic and colossal dragon (that's even drawed on the disc and appears 75% on the trailer) that you beat by pressing two damn buttons. Seriously, the Archdemons were totally anti-climatic (The False King Allant was the only one memorable). Final boss sucked hard, but yet again, ending was better on Demon's Souls. So pick your poison: better boss bad ending / bad boss nice ending.
The worlds are outstanding in both games. The atmosphere is heavy. I love them. Both gems.
Let's see if From Software can make Dark Souls 2 better than the two predecessors.
But its already in HD. I think they should call it something else for next gen and calling it HDD would just be too stupid.
Oh man that Dragon was probably the most disappointing thing i saw. The trailer made him this big badass dragon only for it to be my bitch :/
Its stuff for them to outdo their previous work but i have faith in them that they will deliver. It makes me happy seeing their work being an influence in the industry with games like Deep Down and the call for more challenge in games today.
