9/11 was a conspiracy not a conspiracy theory

in General Discussion on 19 June 2011

trestres said:Why do some people here not even doubt a bit about the USA government? Why do you accept every claim they make. Watch a failed cult indoctrination. It's uncomfortably funny.

in General Discussion on 17 June 2011

This probably seems random, but I have interest in group control and coercion. Books written by Steve Hassan, and ex cult members I find fascinating. This guy above on youtube has a series of videos where he talks to these two Jehovah's witnesses, and watching it in action is both hilarious and disturbing. The starting premise of being an open and honest group wanting only to educate you on...

Watch a failed cult indoctrination. It's uncomfortably funny.

in General Discussion on 17 June 2011

At least to somebody who grew up in a cult. It's disturbing and comical to watch these two men try as hard as they can to not answer questions, and act like the prospective member they are hoping to induct is in fact doing something wrong by asking questions. Essentially what is happening here is that a pair of congregation elders are calling on a young man thinking that he is a prospect for...

Oh How I Love Infamous 2! Rate It!

in Sony Discussion on 10 June 2011

Just beat it. Personally I like the first one better. In this one it seems there was more ambition than the team could realize as actual game. The final boss (no spoilers) I spent half the time wondering if the game is glitching up or if this is how it's supposed to be. The whole battle seemed nonsensical. The ending was gutsy though, I will give them that. Overall, I really liked it, but the...

WiiU - Do you understand it?

in Nintendo Discussion on 07 June 2011

I didn't find it confusing, I just don't know what the practical application is in any sense that I care about. And they didn't actually have any examples of innovative games that will be coming out on it....

Actually (to correct myself) IGN has a picture of the console now   (edit) WTH, why can't I just copy an image like I used to? I swear these forums get a little bit worse with every iteration. Edit2: There, I used the "insert image button" I guess copying and pasting was too easy before....

Aldro said:CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN: Was the controller : Wii U? WHAT THE FUCK? That is interesting that they never actually showed the console, only the controller. I doubt the controller itself is the system, they did say that it would stream from the console to the controller so there has to be some box they are streaming it from. But it seems odd that they don't even have a system to...

I am a little skeptical about the ergonomics of the new controller. It's like they said "forget all the lessons in ergonomics from the past 20 years, lets make a rectangle to hold.....a big rectangle." I can't imagine preferring to play a FPS on that over a PS3 or 360 controller....

It was smart having that clip of all the different gaming presidents praising it though. And showing that all these PS360 games will be on it....late, but on it. Gives confidence that 3rd parties don't see it as a shovelware machine....

So far my take away is "Here is a new system, we don't have any idea what the hell we're going to do with it" Even the miyamoto interview on what they plan on doing with it was just "There are lots of possibilities, so many, we don't even know where to begin. And 3rd parties, we're sure they are thinking of stuff too." It seems neat, but they haven't given any reason to be excited for it....

That looks brutal. In the second video there is a guy just crawling away at the end. I imagine in the middle of that pile it is just a vicious mosh pit.  Are there rules as to how you are supposed to attack and defend? Or is it just run in and bring that pole down?...

Do you want Super Mario Galaxy 3 on Cafe?

in Nintendo Discussion on 28 May 2011

I love love love Galaxy 1 and 2, but I don't want 3. They've done their job, those games felt new and exciting. A 3rd would feel lazy and unimaginitive. A 3d HD Mario game back in the Mushroom Kingdom or something else imaginative that I have not concieved would be preferable to treading the same path again....
