Nintendo, Microsoft going the right away while SONY still trying to figure it out

in Gaming Discussion on 08 June 2011

Quite simply Nintendo is trying to capture the "hardcore" crowd that spend many hours playing online with shooters etc while Microsoft is trying to capture the "casual" crowd that may play games in short burst etc.  I know it is generalizing but trying to keep this short. SONY on the other hand is simply in the mix still trying to do both at the same time. In case some people need it...

MS catering to casual market by mainly having the 4g kinect bundle

in Microsoft Discussion on 21 December 2010

My brother in-law is looking for kinect for his wife as a Christmas present and is having a hard time finding the 250 gig kinect bundle. I mean even at Microsoft's own store http://store.microsoft.com/microsoft/Gaming-Xbox-360-Consoles/category/306  they don't have the 250 gig kinect bundle.  Are they worried people might percieved the 250 bundle as too expensive compared to the Wii or...

Xbox Kinect tracker for online purchasing USA

in Microsoft Discussion on 01 December 2010

Wagram said: Must be out on the internet for Kinect. So So many boxes on shelves in our area. That could be the case as I also saw many kinect units last week in my local best buy.  It could be retailers want people to go to the stores for more impulse buys and crazy expensive bundles.  I also noticed that in-store they have alot of bundles to get rid of old crap that was way...

Xbox Kinect tracker for online purchasing USA

in Microsoft Discussion on 01 December 2010

I figured  this might be helpful for those looking to purchase Kinect stand alone or Kinect bundle this holiday in the USA. As a bonus I also included the PS3 tracker for the move and console. ...

What could have been the Kinect alternative

Why do some people want to use motion controls for core games?

in Gaming Discussion on 18 November 2010

I usually play core games for hours for example call of duty and I would hate to have to point at where I am shooting just because it might be more accurate.  If I wanted to shoot more accurate I simply play the game on a computer with a mouse.  When I played Mario Galaxy all I wanted was to have the same controls as Super Mario 64.  One of my favorite games of all time is Mario...

Pre-Orders will determine the price of MS Kinect

in Microsoft Discussion on 21 June 2010

I can only imagine that is the main reason MS didn't announce the price.  They are trying to gauge interest based on pre-orders and if they are happy with the results they will more than likely keep it at $150. ...

Halo Wars sets day one records for the most demo downloads on Xbox Live!

in Microsoft Discussion on 13 February 2009

I loved the demo and have spend more hours playing it then some full retail games lol. I keep working on my strategies for when the full retail one comes out I can start kicking ass right away. The games brings me back to my age of the empire days in college when I would be up untill 5 or 6 in the morning. I may even get the collectors edition which I haven't done for a game in ages. Go Halo...

    Halo Wars demo impressions

in Microsoft Discussion on 09 February 2009

@ocnkngCan actually control sub units which is especially useful for when you want to use their special "Y" ability. Just select the big group typically by selecting local group and then using the Right trigger you can cyle between the units. Hope that makes sense but basically if you have a group consisting of multiple units you can select each individual unit within that group using the right...

    Halo Wars demo impressions

in Microsoft Discussion on 09 February 2009

Initially it seemd short but you can bump the difficulty to heroic and do human vs human, human vs covenant, covenant vs covenant and covenant vs human (hope people know that you can play as the covenant). There are also stats that you can work on trying to improve each time your play or try a different strategy each time to see what works. Demo serves as a nice way to prepare for the full...

    Halo Wars demo impressions

in Microsoft Discussion on 06 February 2009

I loved the demo. Coming from playing Age of the empires back in the day really hardcore being up until 5-6 AM while in college in a clan kicking ass I was really hopeful ensemble studios would deliver with Halo Wars. They did not dissapoint at all. As mentioned by some here the controls are fairly easy to learn and the tutorial literally takes less than 10 minutes. This is a must buy for me...

Retailers are also to blame for slow PS3 adoption?

in Sales Discussion on 16 January 2009

FishyJoe said: They advertise what they think will bring consumers into the stores. Usually they base that decision on consumer shopping habits.    So best buy figures based on their internal data or research that they can get Wii/360 owners in to the stores more so then PS3 owners?  Is that kind of what your saying? Do they hope once those consumers are in the...
