Exclusives that converted you to the genre.

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 15 January 2015

Hi guys, is there a genre that you didn't like at all and an exclusive convinced you to bite then it was so good you decided to try other games in the genre? I used to hate fps games (well still not my fav kind of games) but then I played Halo in 2003 then I was hooked. Playing Halo helped me try games I wouldn't have tried otherwise because they were fps. Games like Bioshock, Condemned, Left 4...

EA Access is a system seller.

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 09 September 2014

Yep so two of my friends that were still undecided whether getting a X1 or a PS4 decided to go with X1 because of EA Access. You get ridiculous value when you enter the new gen with EAA for 30$. Even I wasn't planning on getting it before late next year but with the addition of Need For Speed I think I will take the plunge. I think this deal with EA might help MS a little. Now do the same...

    Me buying Nintendo?!?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 10 June 2014

Ok I'm gonna say this... Nintendo lost me during the N64 era... yes I bought a Gamecube but it was better at gathering dust than a vacuum cleaner. I was never really interested in Mario games except for Mario Kart but hey, one game isn't enough. The Wii just sealed their fate in my opinion, I always respected their business and considered myself not the target demographic. No need to hate on...

Digital Foundry, Lens of Truth and endless comparisons...

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 23 November 2013

First I want to say that I think DF's work is commendable. Ok so I want to talk about DF, LoT and all these supposed competent comparison articles that some would rule as the definitive truth. I understand that if you have multiple consoles and want to know which game has the best performance these comparisons will help you make a better choice especially since most of these games are the same...

Next gen offers not much except for graphics

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 13 June 2013

Am I the only one that is underwhelmed by next gen games? Almost every games could be done on current gen heck some even on PS2 era... they bring nothing new. The only thing I was interrested in was in Forza 5 with Drivatar from the clouds where every car behaves like real people playing... other than that I feel like they are affraid to use properly other things... I hope they do more stuff with...

    What happened to gaming forums?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 09 March 2013

Wow... sometimes I wonder  if gamers on forums are having fun playing games because a lot seem to piss on anything that is not "true console non motion exclusive to their console of choice"...  Am I the only one that think it's annoying that game forums threads are mostly fanboys whining over who "wins" this or that?  Why was there so many threads about Vita's lack of sales but...

Should games still be played on exclusive hardware?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 25 November 2012

The last topic I made was more about if Nintendo should exit hardware and create a channel available on every piece of equipment capable of playing games instead. I said Nintendo but I mainly think games should be distributed through channels and played on gaming consoles made by any company just like DVDs are played on a DVD player made by different companies.  Like you would subscribe to...

Nintendo should exit console making and create a channel instead!

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 27 November 2012

I think Nintendo should exit hardware all together and create a Nintendo channel. That channel would be an app like Netflix and could be installed for free on any devices consoles/pcs/tablets/phones/smart tvs. They should charge a subscription for people to have their avatar and wander in Nintendo Land or something bigger. There you could buy Nintendo games from all of their past consoles...

Subscribe to play all company games?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 22 August 2012

There was a time where every games I wanted to play had to be physicaly bought through a store. Now I realise that my videogame collection on the shelf hasn't increased that much but I still have plenty of games here and there on hard drives on different devices.  While I was thinking about how did this happened I realised that a good portion of the games I have on 360 are from EA (Mass...

THQ to drop Tomonobu Itagaki's Devil's Third

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 16 May 2012

THQ looking to sell off Devil's Third Ex-Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki's first project after leaving Tecmo could be in trouble. During today's financial briefing call to investors, THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell said Devil's Third no longer fits the publisher's "profitability profile.""The profitability profile for Devil's Third no longer met our internal threshold and we are currently...

Should gaming sites review casuals games?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 10 August 2011

If one thing this generation has done better than the other generations is to attrack casual gamers like soccer moms, older people and put the whole family in front of the tv to play videogames. Once uppon a time, videogames were made specificaly for gamers, these people people used to call geeks or nerds because of their interrest for anything that is fiction and their lack of social and fashion...

Do you adapt to changes in the gaming industry?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 01 July 2011

Some people couldn't jump on the 3D bandwagon they just play 2D games (yea these people exist), granted for them they still make 2D games. Some don't understand how to use the controllers since the first Playstation as the NES had 4 buttons but now controllers have more than 10 buttons plus 2 analog sticks (my father stopped there as he had a hard time following, especially with the dual...

    Next generation controllers.

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 15 June 2011

So now that Nintendo unveiled the trick behind the WiiU which is the controller, do you think it will add anything to gaming and add a new way to control games like the Wii did? Do you think new genres will emerge because of that controller? I'm personally underwhelmed by the controller and the idea. If I understand correctly, it's still a Wii but with a tablet this time. And games...
