Could DKCR become the top selling western developed game in Japan ever?

in Sales Discussion on 20 June 2010

I´m surprised by how many people are underestimating this game! New Super Mario Bros Wii should have thought us how big a classic 2d sidescroller can sell in Japan. Sure Donkey Kong is not as big as Mario but it IS still huge. Let´s have a look at two facts: 1. 2d platformers with big Nintendo characters usually sell much better than their 3d cousins. Therefore 2d is bigger in this...

Is PSP dying outside of Japan?

in Sales Discussion on 13 February 2010

Xoj said: Darc Requiem said: Xoj said:not really, unless u consider the 360 and ps3 dead too. The 360 and PS3 actually sell software. Even when the PSP's hardware sales were higher. You almost never see a PSP title make the NPD Top 10 for the month. oh it thought this was about hardware. It´s about the situation as a whole for PSP. Softwaresales...

Is PSP dying outside of Japan?

in Sales Discussion on 13 February 2010

Xoj said:not really, unless u consider the 360 and ps3 dead too. PS3 and 360 is selling much better though, so I don´t think it´s a good comparison. Both consoles outsold PSP by more than the double during December NPD and 360 sold three times as much as PSP in January NPD. To add to this is the fact that PS3 and 360 is gaining some momentum and are actually up year...

Is PSP dying outside of Japan?

in Sales Discussion on 12 February 2010

I think another factor with the PSPīs increasingly weak performance (outside of Japan) is that it should make Japanese developers that consider developing games for either NDS, PSP, WII or PS3 think twice before choosing PSP. Even if the games perform well in Japan, they tank in the rest of the world. NDS, WII and PS3 should have a big advantage in this case since games for those consoles should...

Is PSP dying outside of Japan?

in Sales Discussion on 12 February 2010

PSP has always had it´s strongest market in Japan. In America and Europe it really is struggling and has been for some time. However, it is really declining in sales now in US. The newly relased NPD numbers showed that PSP just barely managed to sell 100k for the month, that is down from 172k last January which is quite a large drop percentage wise. Softwarewise the portable...

The letīs celebrate that Monster Hunter 3 is a million seller thread!

in Nintendo Discussion on 10 February 2010

Well Monster Hunter 3 has today reached the millionmark according to Famitsu and that´s something worth celebrating for Nintendofans! Think about it, it´s the first thirdparty millionseller for a Nintendo homeconsole in Japan since SNES and that´s around 15 years ago! This news might get overlooked so I just decided to honor MH3 with a thread where all Nintendofans can...

The margin between DS and PSP is epic! 1,7 million vs 294,000, thatīs a difference in favor of DS at almost 1,4 million. Has DS ever owned PSP to such a large degree? I think itīs probably time for the PSP2 to be released next year....

Daily update 7/12Tales of Graces 347pt (+8)ToG is tracking below both Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Symphonia for Wii at this point so itīs not looking great Iīm afraid. First day sales Japan 12/3 (NSMBWii, PSP2 and Gundam vs Gundam Next)

outlawauron said:I don't understand why people are assuming that NSMB Wii is going to sell just like NSMB DS. The Wii is not, and never will be, the DS. That is not really important since this game will be a huge seller even if it won´t have the legs of the DStitle. I agree that it won´t have the legs like NSMB in the long run (that´s almost...

I must say that witnessing the meltdown by ZorroX and then see him getting permabanned was quite entertaining =) I know one is not supposed to be happy about other peoples failures but in this case I canīt help it. Worldwide Hardware Numbers UP for week of Black Friday

in Sales Discussion on 04 December 2009
