Yes get WKC2 as it includes the first, I haven't played WKC2 yet, LA Noire is occupying me and I got FFXIV (for a bargain £9 and its free to play). Ninja theory proved the could write a good story with Heavenly Sword. They just need someone to do the gameplay and make sure the game is longer than 4 hours. I am not into hack n slash so don't know much about the DMC reboot but wherever I go I see people hating on it for some reason. Are the previews negative so far?
The Wii U wil may be costly, very costly!
Don't be fooled by people telling you WKC is like FF12. They are nothing alike.
One has a good story....the other has a terrible on. One has at leasta few good characters....the other has such bad characters you'll forget their names during the game itself.
One is actually challenging and needs strategy to be applied while in the other...lolol its HARDER to get yourself killed than it is to fight the final boss.
One has scintillating art direction....the other one is bland and generic.
The only thing WKC may have over it is music.
With that said WKC is ok.
If you have a Wii, Xenoblade is the closest type of JRPG experience to FF12 coming in the future.
It won't get a Metacritic score higher than 90; I'm sure of that. They've added new features and addressed the criticism, but it still has the same battle system as the first XIII. When X-2 came out, they changed both the gameplay and battle system from X. With XIII-2, it's basically the same battle system and some other changes; it's more of the same of XIII with not much difference, IMO.
About the rumour, it's not really a rumour, bro. Kitase was interviewed about a main series FF coming to PSVista or 3DS and he said they want to keep main series FF on home consoles. The fact he says it's coming to home consoles and we know the FFXII team has been MIA for ages, just means they're the ones making it.
Here's full question and answer by Kitase: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-06-08-final-fantasy-xv-wont-be-on-vita-3ds
Yeah, I saw it. Looks like typical Kitase team stuff, IMO. The only epic part was the part with Lightning. I also watched a playthrough of the demo and I give them kudos to listening to complaints and making maps better and adding interactive NPCs. Still, the QTEs look way below the standard set by Heavy Rain and the fact we're playing as Noel and Serah is way too kiddy, IMO. I'm not buying it and instead still waiting for the next game from the FFXII team.
Hey, how's it going? Bought a PSP last week (only £99 at Heathrow) and already have 10 games.I love it. Such a pretty, mulitifunctional device. Can you stream movies from PS3? I dont seem to be able to connect both platforms.
If FF15 gets announced at E3 then I plan to start a website or blog dedicated to it. Provided it's made by the FF12 team and set in Ivalice. Oh, and Matsuno needs to be working freelance on it like how he did with Tactics Ogre.
I think the ideal for FF15 will be to have a single player part like FF12 and then a MMO part where you can create a character to use in MMO hunts and quests. So the game should have both single player parts and MMO parts. Have you heard of a PS3 game called White Knight Chronicles? Something like that would be great for FF15. It will have proper story offline and MMO quests online.
Ito and Matsuno are both part of Team 4, just that some made Tactics Ogre while others are likely making FF15. It's like how Team 1 has some making FF13-2 and others making Versus 13 and even more others making Type-0.
MMO have story. FF11 has the deepest story in the whole FF series thanks to the constant expansions over the years. It also has a world 4 times the size of Ivalice in FF12, but when it first came out, the world was half the size of FF12. FF15 will be fine as a MMO as long as you can solo the whole game. FF11 has you needing to always be in a party.
As much as I'd like a new single player game from the FF12 team, an MMO would allow them to keep making expansions and make an ever growing story and world of Ivalice. That's something they couldn't do with FF12.
I think Wada will be expecting some people to play FF14 while others play FF15. So each game will have different people playing it. Maybe some fans will will even play both games and get a subscription for both. Other fans will look at each game and choose which one has the gameplay and story they like and subscribe to that one. It can work, IMO.
We'll have to see. I think FF15 would be fine as a MMO provided you can solo play the whole game. There's no problem with FF14 and FF15 being a MMO as FF11 is a MMO and they are still supporting that and selling new versions of it even though FF14 is out. They recently released "FFXI Collection 3" last week.
FF12 had a lot of MMO elements, so I'm not worried that the FF12 team have not made a MMO before. The most important thing is that there has to be A LOT of content a launch and no bugs whatsoever. The amount of content at launch should be double the amount of content in FF12. Also, make it so you can choose out of all the races in FFTA2, and each race has access to unique jobs and abilities.
A lot of FF12 haters dissed the game by calling it an "Offline MMO" so I hope the FF12 team actually make FF15 a MMO so we can laugh in their faces who couldn't see that FF12 was a true single player RPG. I'm sure if it's made by the FF12 team then it will be a MMO set in Ivalice.
I definitely think the new MMO is FF15. Wada said in an interview before FF14 came out, "All our future games will have online." I thought he meant just an online multiplayer mode plus the JRPG stuff, but there's a chance that means every future FF will be a MMO. Anyway, I hope that this new MMO is by the FF12 team and not outsourced to another developer.
Yeah, this E3 they have a lot of other HD games to show off. These are FF13-2, FF Versus 13, FF Type-0, FF14 on PS3. Then you have other games like Deus Ex and Tomb Raider from Eidos that need promoting. I think they will reveal some new games and I hope FF15 is one of them.
It's not FF13 that's meant to be bigger than FF7, it's the Fabula Nova Crystallis that's meant to be bigger than the Compilation of FF7. I'm sure if they were pumping lots of money into FF13, Versus 13 and FF14, then they were also pumping money into FF15 at the same time. We'll see anyway, there's not long to go till E3.
Also, notice how Hiroyuki Ito has not been credited on a single game since FF12 International came out? He's obviously busy directing FF15.
Let's compare to Capcom's Dragon's Dogma. It's made by the Devil May Cry 4 team. They said development started in early 2008 after DMC4 came out. The game was revealed in early 2011, which is 3 years development time till announcement. FF12 International came out in August 2007 so let's say the FF12 team starteFF15 in early 2008. It has therefore been over 3 years in development.
Basically, FF15 would be being made by the FF12 team even when FF13 and FF14 were being made. They don't wait for one FF to finish before they start making another one. Development of FF13 started in April 2004 but FF12 came out in March 2006. Each team just makes a game after their last project. The last project by the FF12 team was FF12 International in August 2007.
