About Me:
Super Duper Senior at HSU. Learned to read phonetically at age 3 thanks to video games. Music and gaming are my two biggest passions. I thought about being a game music composer for a long time, but the switch to more ambient game soundtracks is not my style.
As a musician, I'm a countertenor and a percussionist of many talents. I've played in countless garage bands and tons of performance ensembles on any percussion instrument from timpanis to steel pans. I've participated in choirs, chamber groups, musicals and operas. I also write video game-esque music. I've recently decided that music is probably not what I want to do as a career; but I know that I want to do it for the rest of my life.
As a gamer, my strengths are JRPGs, 2D Fighters, and platformers. I'm a huge fan of RPGs (although I seriously need to get more acquainted with WRPGs), and I write reviews of 99% of the ones I play simply as a hobby. I've been doing this since 2003 and have only exempted three or four games. I could probably kill _anyone_ in Street Fighter 2, even your cousin that's really good. I've beaten some absurdly hard action games without cheating...like Bayou Billy!
As a writer, I think one of my greatest strengths is my unconventional (or at least I'd like to think it's unconventional!) writing style. One thing that I think sets my reviews apart is that people who play games very casually or not at all find them tangible and entertaining. I'm not afraid to say how I feel about anything, and no writer should; why have multiple reviews on the internet if we aren't going to showcase multiple opinions and perspectives?
