You still fixing the site? Hardly see you anymore.

I mostly gave up. The owner of the site (ioi) basically ignores VGC in favor of Gamewise. There are some fundamental flaws with the structure of this website and he doesn't want to take the time to fix them (e.g. our game database is extracted from Gamewise, but I can't create new entires for games on Gamewise, but not on VGC. So no Pikmin 3 WiiU and well a lot of games from 2013).

I only really care about the "Most Wanted" section now.

How are you btw?

Great! Really enjoying my Wii U. I play it for hours a day and use it for everything now, including remote and computer. I actually have to finish up some of my master legal classes tonight, so I am using a real computer for once, but other than that...I love it!

Yeah, I knew this would be the case when gamewise came about. I worked for the site for a bit, but it is all so technical for me. So much so that I think he is missing the point of that site. His main hits come from mobile gamers, moms, kids, etc. They do not care about all that technical stuff, they just want info on what game is hot at the moment while they wait at the hair salon or on the school bus. I miss the days of simple database like we had here. I wish gamewise was not even linked here and we could do our own thing.

ioi let you work on Gamewise? I basically begged him to let me work on VGC, but he refused. VGC is one of the higher ranked online game sites though, I'm sure one day he'll restore it properly.

One reason you probably don't see me on anymore is because I'm trying to spare up time to play video games. I own a lot (look at my collection) and only beat about half of it. Bought my WiiU 2 months ago, and only played about 6 hours (mostly local MP in MK8).

Plus I don't really have much to contribute via forums. I've realized that for the most part it's fanboys. If people are talking about a game I like, I'd rather not hear about it and be surprised as much as I can be when it comes out. I don't even watch reviews anymore.

This is why I like the "Most Wanted" feature. I get a fairly unbiased list of games, with no info. If Salnax give up this feature, I'm going to take over. I'll make time for this.

Around here you have to get jobs by talking to his current employees and guys in charge.

Only 2 people in charge of VGC are Brett and Machina, both of which refused to give me power on VGC and both of which moved onto GameWise.

Trunks-Sword does the articles, but meh......I want true database power.

hey have you seen npd yet for june?

Briefly. PS4 is severely undertracked, and WiiU/XB1 are undertracked as well right?

Meanhile 3DS, Vita and 360 are overtracked.

on 18 July 2014

yep 3ds is 7k overtracked sadly :(

on 19 July 2014

I don't know why Nintendo didn't go all out this year on the games. I really have little to look forward to other then Codename STEAM and Pokemon.

Going to revert back to PSP and DS gaming lol.

on 19 July 2014

guess they released so many games in 2013 that they need some time for new ones XD but anyway i predict majoras mask 3d,steam,monster hunter 4, and a new pokemon for 2015 so far

on 19 July 2014

That would be way too fast for a whole new Pokemon, this isn't an annual franchise. But I agree with you on Majora's Mask 3D, they did give away Majora's Mask CD's as a Platinum reward for Club Nintendo last year.

Still disappointed with 3DS and Vita overall. Compared to the DS and PSP 3 years into their life cycle, the number of games on the new handhelds isn't much. All I want at this point is Dragon Quest VII and a new Advance Wars for 3DS, and a PS2 remake for Vita which I have yet to play (Shadow Hearts maybe?)

P.S. I might be crazy for saying this, but I'm predicting a Zelda Pinball for 3DS in 2015. GB had Kirby Pinball, GBC had Pokemon, GBA had Mario and another Pokemon Pinball and DS had Metroid. The only major Nintendo series without a pinball game is Zelda (but I could see a 3rd Pokemon Pinball for 3DS).

I also predict a Final Fantasy XII Remaster for PSV/PS3, but maybe not until 2016.

hey good news zelda u already has 3k preorders :)

meh. That game is so far down......

I'm just happy WiiU has stabilized at 60k weekly (even with the MK8 bundle discontinued). If Nintendo plays their cards right, they could still end up 2nd this gen.

on 12 July 2014

well it still has over a year) so its doing good and actually europe still continuing the bundle

on 12 July 2014

There's already a Zelda bundle for WiiU??

The thing about VGC is the numbers are a complete estimate. I've seen VGC completely change the pre-orders for games by up to 400% with adjustments. Sometimes they add a game after they "estimate" that it's received 30,000-40,000 pre-orders.

Don't take the info from this website too strictly, always approach it with a grain of salt. As an example, last July VGC claimed PS3 topped 360 sales, and even made an article about it. With the most recent adjustments, PS3 only topped 360 last month.

on 13 July 2014

I wouldn't be surprised if Smash Bros WiiU had 50,000 pre-orders (VGC have it at 20,000 right now).

on 13 July 2014

actually i could see that to since it should have gotten over 10k preorders from e3 hype and smash fest :P

on 14 July 2014

and thx for the tip :)

Hey man, I know you're a big Mario Party 2 fan. The game is one of the prizes on Club Nintendo until the 6th. Do you think it's worth picking up? I might only be able to play with two people.

Mario Party 2 is by far the best Mario Party, definitely worth picking up IMO. I have it both for N64 and Wii.

Mario Party 9 isn't bad either, but 2 is definitely the best. MP1 has too many mini-games which grind down the analog stick and 3-8 are all pretty bad.

I still play MP2 with friends. I say buy it.

on 04 July 2014

I decided to get it :)

Thanks for your advice. I'll let you know how I like it.

on 06 July 2014

Please do. My advice is to play Space Land with your friends. It's my favorite map.

hey which one do you think eill help wii u more

xenoblade x or fire emblem x shin megami(whatever its called)

XenoBlade for sure. SMT x. Fire Emblem is a crossover and crossovers rarely do anything noticeable.

Might not even get SMT x. Fire Emblem because I hate SMT

on 26 June 2014

now which one could be more helpful in japam?

on 27 June 2014

XenoBlade lol

on 27 June 2014

hmm i was thinking since the other 2 do better in japan but that could happen lol

on 27 June 2014

It could, but console Fire Emblems never did that well in Japan either (0.16/0.17 million, same as XenoBlade)

SMT did well during the PS2 era, but that 23 million PS2 install base in Japan gave an unfair advantage (Wii only had 9 million units).

Plus now that the game is being planned to be released outside of Japan, I could see this game having a larger budget/more advertising.

An Interesting History of the Sexualisation of Samus Aran

in Nintendo Discussion 11 hours ago

I hated how after Metroid Prime 2/Metroid Zero Mission, Samus taking her helmet off at the end of the game was no longer a reward. I really wish they kept her reasonable, Samus would have sold without sex appeal....

"The Wii U is a better secondary console than the X1/PS4"

"The Wii U is a better secondary console than the X1/PS4"

in Gaming Discussion 11 hours ago

DerNebel said: A comment I read quite a lot on the internet and I'd like someone to explain it to me, why does it make more sense for someone that already owns a PS4/X1 to buy a Wii U instead of a X1/PS4. Please keep in mind that I'm talking about the whole generation not just right now. Why will in let's 4-5 years the Wii U be a better secondary system than the...
