How would I 'Make a DB contribution' to complete my profile?

I have no clue. The only way you can change the database is by updating the Gamewise page for a game.

How it works is that the release date/cover art on Gamewise are copied and migrate directly to this website.

you just udpdate the row or cell in the table you C&P from your spreadsheet, that is how i do it anyway

There is only an option to update the cell on VGC, so I have to click 3x per cell :-(

Oh well, done now.

I started playing Chrono Trigger this weekend, for the first time :)

I don't know what to say..........wow. Enjoy! Just remember it's a 20 year old game now.

Maybe I should take the Epoch to 1995 and play it at launch :-P

on 07 September 2014

Hahaha good luck, I'll jump to 1998 then I just picked up Panzer Dragoon Saga and started that :-)

on 08 September 2014

Nice! I've been meaning to play Saga. Where did you find it? It's so expensive these days.

P.S. I beat Chrono Trigger last night!

on 08 September 2014

eBay, I paid an arm and a leg, but mine is in flawless condition. Better to get it now, then when it cost even more in the future.

Nice about CT, how did you like it? You know on the second play through, you can cut to the Lavos fight at any time, and you'll get a different ending based on which crisis isn't solved.

on 08 September 2014

I loved it :)

Great combat system, amazing graphics and sound, and some truly unique and memorable characters.

on 08 September 2014

Plus for the time, the story was unique and new. You also rarely see charcter development like Magus anymore, and the idea that 2 characters from the past and a robot from the future are on your team.....

But then again the world ended in 1999.

You still fixing the site? Hardly see you anymore.

I mostly gave up. The owner of the site (ioi) basically ignores VGC in favor of Gamewise. There are some fundamental flaws with the structure of this website and he doesn't want to take the time to fix them (e.g. our game database is extracted from Gamewise, but I can't create new entires for games on Gamewise, but not on VGC. So no Pikmin 3 WiiU and well a lot of games from 2013).

I only really care about the "Most Wanted" section now.

How are you btw?

on 17 August 2014

Great! Really enjoying my Wii U. I play it for hours a day and use it for everything now, including remote and computer. I actually have to finish up some of my master legal classes tonight, so I am using a real computer for once, but other than that...I love it!

Yeah, I knew this would be the case when gamewise came about. I worked for the site for a bit, but it is all so technical for me. So much so that I think he is missing the point of that site. His main hits come from mobile gamers, moms, kids, etc. They do not care about all that technical stuff, they just want info on what game is hot at the moment while they wait at the hair salon or on the school bus. I miss the days of simple database like we had here. I wish gamewise was not even linked here and we could do our own thing.

on 17 August 2014

ioi let you work on Gamewise? I basically begged him to let me work on VGC, but he refused. VGC is one of the higher ranked online game sites though, I'm sure one day he'll restore it properly.

One reason you probably don't see me on anymore is because I'm trying to spare up time to play video games. I own a lot (look at my collection) and only beat about half of it. Bought my WiiU 2 months ago, and only played about 6 hours (mostly local MP in MK8).

Plus I don't really have much to contribute via forums. I've realized that for the most part it's fanboys. If people are talking about a game I like, I'd rather not hear about it and be surprised as much as I can be when it comes out. I don't even watch reviews anymore.

This is why I like the "Most Wanted" feature. I get a fairly unbiased list of games, with no info. If Salnax give up this feature, I'm going to take over. I'll make time for this.

Around here you have to get jobs by talking to his current employees and guys in charge.

on 17 August 2014

Only 2 people in charge of VGC are Brett and Machina, both of which refused to give me power on VGC and both of which moved onto GameWise.

Trunks-Sword does the articles, but meh......I want true database power.

Will the Wii U ever beat the Xbox One in weekly sales again?

in Gaming Discussion 19 hours ago

Yes, Smash Bros + Holidays tend to favor Nintendo a lot more then the rest. WiiU could outsell XB1 for the months of November/December as a whole....

Hopefully WiiU can see some growth due to software come November. It was competing against XB1 worldwide not long ago, I'd like to see it lead again....

NintendoPie said: Michael-5 said: I was thinkin the same thing, but I got the game anyway and now I'm 15 hours in. There is no adventure mode, but there is All Stars, & Classic. They can take up a bit of time when you try to beat them with multiple characters. At 15 hours though, I'm done. I don't have all the trophies or all the challegnes done, but I don't want to play the...
