Will you play a sequel without its prequel?

in Gaming Discussion on 21 December 2008

As a continuation of this point, what games do you feel SHOULD be played in order to get the full effect and enjoyment out of them?...

Will you play a sequel without its prequel?

in Gaming Discussion on 21 December 2008

Oh yeah, I forgot another game I played without playing its prequel: Blood Omen 2. I only played it cause it was free. It SEEMS like there's a lot of backstory that was in the first game that I missed, but I actually went back and tracked down the first Blood Omen game, and the gameplay was just UTTERLY different, so I haven't really run into a lot of whatever story elements there are yet.Usually...

Will you play a sequel without its prequel?

in Gaming Discussion on 20 December 2008

Have you ever waited to play a game that is the 2nd or 3rd or 4th in the franchise until after you've played the preceding games? For instance, would you play Half Life 2 before playing Half Life 1? What about God of War? Metal Gear Solid? What about Pikmin or Super Mario Bros? Are there any games that you feel are unnecessary to do this for? I personally feel that Theif: Deadly Shadows did an...

OMFG Eddie Murphy will play The Riddler!!!!

in General Discussion on 19 December 2008

Dangit, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker would have made a great Batman and Robin pair. I can just totally see them arguing over who gets to be batman, and you have them racing to get to the bat suit first, and the loser gets stuck as Robin....

F*** being politically correct! Merry Christmas to all of you!

in General Discussion on 19 December 2008

Kwanzaa - essentially, it's a political holidays that was created some 40 years ago, but apparently a lot of people think it's actually a holiday that has roots in africa and such. The problem I have with it is that it basically creates the perception that Christmas and Hanukah are "white" holidays and Kwanzaa is a "black" holiday. Even if that wasn't the intent, that's how it ends up coming...

Britains, how do you feel about the EU?

F*** being politically correct! Merry Christmas to all of you!

in General Discussion on 18 December 2008

MontanaHatchet said: Christmas has very little to do with Christianity and a lot more to do with fueling capitalism (just like Thanksgiving). Don't get the two mixed up. And every time someone goes on an Anti-PC rant (and I'm referring to political correctness, not personal computers) then I facepalm extravagantly. Stop overreacting. I still think that the secular holiday should be...

F*** being politically correct! Merry Christmas to all of you!

in General Discussion on 18 December 2008

Seriously, I have never understood why this was ever an issue, but I'm going to nip it in the bud this year.   Merry Christmas. Are you Jewish? Merry Christmas. Are you Muslim? Merry Christmas. Are you Atheist? Merry Christmas. The fact of the matter is, being religiously tolerant does not mean I have to kowtow to every single thing people observe. Heck, how would I even know what...

    Global Warming. Fact or fiction??

in General Discussion on 18 December 2008

I don't even mind basic level environmental awareness and responsibility, if only for a pure quality of life issue. I like being able to drink water without a filter and breath air without feeling like I'm sucking a cigarette through my nose, but there are so many things that have been taken off the market for environmental reasons, and replaced with products that barely do the job half as well...

In order to celebrate Christmas post the best Christmas song you can find

in General Discussion on 18 December 2008

This is actually one of my favorite christmas songs. One of the few I actually LIKE to hear during the holiday season. Every other christmas song I've heard has gotten to be a little annoying after hearing it 3 times every 4 hours for a week straight. ...

    Global Warming. Fact or fiction??

in General Discussion on 18 December 2008

Wow, Final-Fan, those last few posts you've made are some of the best I've seen as far as supporting global warming goes. I hold much the same opinion, though I seem to be on the opposite side of the argument from you.My basic issue, is not really whether I believe in global warming or not, but in how the idea of it is being used. 20 - 40 years ago people were worried about global cooling, but...

    Steam hardware survey results relaunched

in PC Discussion on 17 December 2008

I'm kinda worried about this. Thing is, my computer can run DX9, but for a lot of valve games (which I play on Steam) I have to manually override in order to play at DX8, so that I can play without getting unreasonable amounts of lag....

Seppukuties, if you haven't played it... well, play it already.

in PC Discussion on 17 December 2008

This is another hacked level that I've done. You can't create a level like this through the level editor that Seppukuties comes with. You can only do it by editing the level code directly. Corpse Hurler - Avg Time: 40 seconds, Par: 3(2 possible), Acorns: 0Challenge - Corpse Use, Quick Reaction, Key Timing, Jumping Accuracy 2B28AB2AB28AB2A4B25AB2A4BD24AB2A3BD25AB2A2BD19AF7B2ABD19AFD6A...

kicking off the second part will be a extra special level, and perhaps teh one with the most replay value. Thsi level is almost never plays through the same way twice, despite the fact that it's one of the simplest levels(in terms of content, not difficulty) I've designed. Elements of Chaos - Avg Time: 15 seconds, Par: 0, Acorns: 0Challenge - Blind Navigation, Key Order, Broken...

Sorry I've been gone so long. finals were kicking my butt over the past week. To make up for that, I'll be doing a triple header today, and with some of the best levels I have to offer. First we'll kick this off with a level originally by someone else that I modified, the original was a fairly simple level by this-is-eskimoe at...

Predictions; Will Twilight Princess stay in top 100?

in Nintendo Discussion on 15 December 2008

fun mental exercise: Since its release, Twilight Princess for Wii has managed to work itself up into the 100 top selling games list... multiple times. It's sales rate is at this amazingly perfect pace that has allowed it to be passed by various newer releases (like Wii Play, Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, Brawl, Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Call of Duty 4, etc) and subsequently pushed out of the 100...

    4.1 Nintendo's number to remember

in Nintendo Discussion on 15 December 2008

Sorry, Johnny, I'm necroing this thread for hindsight. Last I heard, we're still stuck at 2.5-3.0 million range for Monthly Worldwide Wii production. I remember how close JL came to hitting the mark on "how much the Wii will sell 20mil by 08" but it looks like this prediction was a bit too high.If I got this wrong though, feel free to correct me and applaud JL.   EDIT: I was also willing...

in Gaming Discussion on 15 December 2008

I'm necroing this thread purely for 20/20 hindsight analysis. From what I can see, not a single freaking one of these predictions came true. Is there anything in here that can be considered even remotely to have been true?...
