I would hope that most people on vacation would be doing something other than playing the same games they could be playing at home, barring a gaming convention where internet connectivity would be about the last problem anyone would be having. Ubisoft commit commercial suicide

in PC Discussion on 28 January 2010

They're not trying to protect their IPs though, they're trying to kill the second hand market. I'm always amazed at the number of people who not only continually bend over and take the latest stupid, anti-consumer wheeze dreamed up by these companies, but actively defend them....

in Website Topics on 12 September 2011

Explains why an innocuous question of mine about the Brink review and whether the reviewer had seen any of the issues that the ArsTechnica reviewer had experienced was repeatedly deleted. Guess we know where we stand with VGChartz and its 'ethics'- as soon as money is involved, there aren't any....

Brink Review- Why so sensitive about straighforward questions?

in Website Topics on 12 May 2011

I mean really, just continually deleting a few simple questions without even making an attempt to answer them makes me think someone has something they'd rather hide. Either that, or you don't give a toss about your community any more. For the seventh time now- Seeing as my comment under the review has been repeatedly removed, I thought I'd ask in here. Did the reviewer experience any...

    Brink Review

in Website Topics on 12 May 2011

Seeing as my comment under the review has been repeatedly removed, I thought I'd ask in here. Did the reviewer experience any of the technical issues outlined by Ars Technica, which refused to review the game as it was so obviously broken? Given that Ars Technica mentioned that reviewers were only given copies of the 360 version of Brink, did the reviewer also get PS3 and PC copies? If ...

Why Ad Blocking is devastating to the sites you love

in Website Topics on 07 March 2010

ioi said: Again, if you read the thread you'll see that losing people who use adblockers doesn't cost anything but reduces our bandwidth cost considerably so I don't see how it would end badly. People who fall into your category whereby even after understanding the implications of your actions continue to have the same viewpoint are a pretty small minority thankfully. Most people care...

in Website Topics on 07 March 2010

ioi said: If you'd have read the thread you'd see there are three realistic options: Don't use VGChartz Use VGChartz and help fund the site by allowing ads to show Pay a monthly fee to turn ads off I'm happy with those 3 options and that is how we should set things up to run. By using an adblocker on the site you using services without paying for them. Now that you aware of the...

ioi said: He just read the rest of the thread which I suggest you should do as well... I have read it. I ain't turning my adblocker off unless you can guarantee your ads are clean. Simple as that. If it means I get banned or blocked then hey ho, off I go. As for this- [quote]Just because we don't enforce the blocking of people who block ads it doesn't mean it is your right to do...
