Will this be the last year PS4 outsells Switch?

in Sales Discussion on 06 June 2018

From what I've seen the Switch was keeping pace in weekly sales with the PS4 for a while and has started to drop away now, outside of Nintendo launching their own big games I don't see a great deal of third party support for the machine so far, at least nothing to write home about. I don't see the switch outselling this year, it's all heavily dependant on Nintendo's lineup of games I suppose and...

Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age on the Playstation 4, which I have been most looking forward to for years. I was and indeed still am enjoying being in the game world so much that I kept going around and gridning and doing all optional content available to me at every point before progressing with the story (y) Unfortunately that meant the actual story bosses suffered from a lack of difficulty, most...

Ps4 passes 400m software milestone (retail only)

in Gaming Discussion on 02 September 2017

Azuren said: I was unaware that both the 360 and PS3 had passed the Wii in software sales. Hardly surprising, quite quickly after the launch I found most people with a Wii were letting them gather dust or only played Nintendo games, and as ever it doesn't help Nintendo to shift software for the platform if everyone else in the industry doesn't want to make games for their...

in Sales Discussion on 28 August 2017

Outstanding year for Playstation, it's so nice waking up and having it feel like the good old days with Sony at the top. Switch sales are impressive despite shortages as well, I'm blown away by how successful the Switch is performing, I've never really been impressed with the concept or hardware so to see it pull 4.6 in the first six months I'm really impressed by it and major props to...

    The Age Of Empires Franchise?

in Microsoft Discussion on 27 August 2017

Damn I really want to play Age of Empires now, the last week there's been such a buzz about the series again and it's really refreshing to see (Y) When Microsoft closed down Ensemble Studios in 2009, I thought it was perhaps the singularly most retarded decision they had made in their history as a games publisher and developer.I still don't understand it to this day....

If Microsoft puts halo 6 on PC I'm switching to pc

in Microsoft Discussion on 27 August 2017

Honestly, if that happened that would essentially be Microsoft conceding defeat in the console market and you may very well see the death of the Xbox brand shortly after I feel. If the priamry reason to buy the machine can be had elsewhere then what's the point of having the machine anyway? Doubt they would actually do that now though, I know that first two were released on the PC but that...

    The Age Of Empires Franchise?

in Microsoft Discussion on 27 August 2017

For my end, I have played the other RTS you mentioned and for me Age of Empires wins hands down, just my absolute favourite RTS series. Obviously they're probably gonna be a little dated now, but they still have great playability if you ask me, particularly 2 which was recently re-released on Steam, check it out on there I would. I haven't had a rig capable of running much more than daily...

I have lost most interest in RPG's. I used to look so forward to them. Here's why.

in Gaming Discussion on 26 August 2017

I think people like what they like when it comes to RPG's,I was recently chatting with a friend about the genre and though he enjoys them, he said he doesn't consider JRPG's to be true RPG's like the latest western releases, where you can change your character's appearance and make the game that much more personal to you, he also said that the open world gameplay adds to rather than subtracts...

Opinion Article: Switch Portability Speaks To Me Greater Than 4K Gaming

in Nintendo Discussion on 26 August 2017

Someone tapped on this elsewhere on this thread but I don't see the big fuss about portability with dedicated gaming machines anymore. It's borderline obsolete, or fast approaching that stage anyway. 15 years ago I remember that wherever I went I had a gameboy advance and all my Pokemon games with me, would religiously play them, but now I have a phone with constant 4G connection, I can choose to...

    Nintendo was never doomed

in Nintendo Discussion on 25 August 2017

You'd be hard pressed to say Nintendo is ever doomed for all the reasons you stated and more, but they do seem to be going through more and more bad phases with their hardware since the 2000, to deny just how dire the competitiveness of Nintendo through Gen6 and Gen8 was can be an issue, particularly if their means of addressing any long term concerns is by continuously gimmicking their systems...

PS4 Hardware Sales 2015 vs 2016 vs 2017: New Years numbers posted. 2017 ends at 20.2 million

in Sony Discussion on 25 August 2017

Yeah a price cut and heavy bundling to see out the year with the biggest games from both EA and Activision this Autumn/holiday (Destiny 2, Battlefront 2, CoD WW2 etc) and of course their own bundle with GT Sport should see 2017 be the PS$'s best year by some margin, when was the PS2 peak year? 2004/fourth year on the market? Good position to be for Sony going ahead....

If MS fixes their lack of exclusives they would be in a really nice position

in Microsoft Discussion on 24 August 2017

RolStoppable said: smroadkill15 said: I believe you said in previous threads you want MS to leave the console business so it's hard for me to take anything you say seriously.  Sounds like a request for a brief analysis. The state of digital sales on Playstation

in Sales Discussion on 24 August 2017

I find it so much easier to buy on the store and just have the games ready to go on the system itself, I've often found myself put off playing games on my shelf because it's just easier for me to play games I have on the system, lazy I know. If I think about it, the majority of games I've played on the PS4 have been store bought. Still buy the odd retail copy of a game if it means that much to...

in Gaming Discussion on 24 August 2017

Kingdoms of Amalur for me, I actually really got into the game and was unfortunately ensnared by it's laundry list of gltiches and bugs almost as soon as I started, a lot of them I didn't even realise were issues, for instance the one where when you entered a city/significant location the camera would do this 30 second take of the lcoation, just thought it was an annoying quirk on the devs part....
