Yea, I haven't been too active on VGC lately since I started my new job. I made a thread asking if I should wait for a 3DS redesign a few days back when that shitstorm hit about the add-on analog stick. Even though most people voted to wait I decided I wanted to get a 3DS this holiday season since most the games I am excited for are being released soon (Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, etc..). and won't require two analog sticks. I also think that the redesign might not include a second analog stick. It is tough to say for sure but I think the add-on should just remain an add-on. I don't see a drastic need for two analog sticks on a 3DS yet some people do.

Oh yea and I am also sick of the 3DS is doomed because of smartphones crap that all the "gaming" and non-gaming sites keep bringing up. This alone wants me to take a break from VGC. I am just plainly sick of reading all the doom and gloom. I can't wait till 3DS proves all these people wrong. Just like the Wii proved almost everyone wrong this generation.

I bought mine on day 1 and it will definitely make you happy. The holiday will be amazing and Mario Kart looks outstanding. As long as Nintendo exists, there will be lots of <insert Nintendo product> is doomed. What looks doomed to me right now is Vita. Technology looks great, games are not there. And the second stick should never be a requirement for any game. But as an optional addition, it is ok with me. I do not see a redesign in the near future but I am sure that in a couple years, there will be one with the second stick. By that point though, it will not piss anybody off so I am cool with that as well.

read your 3Ds comment... one of the interesting aspect of Samurai warriors was the fact that you could switch character (between 4) during the fights to appear on the other side of the map. (didn't do that in the other SW or DW I played). Besides that the 3D isn't supper as the ennemies are not very nicely detailed, besides named ones. Still it should be a fun DW type game.
