Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Revealed - $199, September 20th, Dedicated Handheld

in Nintendo Discussion on 10 July 2019

Come on, guys. If Nintendo dropped the "3D" in 3DS and it worked, why not the "Switch" in Switch? Two things:1) Will the current Joycon design change to have the better d-pad? This is a must imo.2) My stock right joycon analog stick gave out after hours of MK8 (I accelerate by holding the stick upwards instead of holding the button), now the "right" input on the stick doesn't register. I had to...

    PS5 Confirmed Backward Compatibility

in Sony Discussion on 17 April 2019

It doesn't sound like a $399 machine. I'm okay with it costing more, but past trends have demonstrated anything higher hasn't been too successful. Maybe it'll be $449 at a loss? That or Sony is prepping two models, and we are hearing about the top tier one. Anyway, BC will be much appreciated. ...

24 frames per second is starting to look awkward in 4k.

in Movies Discussion on 23 February 2019

I recall a movie releasing some time ago, I think it was the The Hobbit, where they did a limited 4K 48fps showing. People said it made the CGI look awkward and fake, which it obviously is, but it took from the experience. I imagine the type of content matters....

PS5 Coming at the End of 2020 According to Analyst: High-Spec Hardware for Under $500

in Sony Discussion on 11 February 2019

Come on, guys. Mass market pricing will always be a priority. I'd be surprised if it costs more than $399. The CPU, GPU and RAM will target two standards: 4K30 and 1080p60. This should be possible at that price point, end of next year....

Nikkei rumor: Nintendo Switch Mini Launches In Mid 2019, New Online Services Aimed At Core Gamers

in Nintendo Discussion on 31 January 2019

Sounds like a smaller, Joycon-less, portable-only Switch. Perhaps a bit shorter in height, and not as long to accommodate a smaller screen. Save on the HD rumble costs, dock costs, and perhaps cheaper components like gimping the screen....

Your hopes for a PS5 Pro etc next gen?

in Gaming Discussion on 09 January 2019

I think there will be two models at launch, a PS5 and PS5 Pro. GPU will likely follow similar config of PS4 to PS4 Pro. But there also will be a PS5 Pro+ or PS5K sometime in 2023 with doubled config of PS5Pro at 5nm(?). Perhaps 5K resolutions or 4K 60fps....

    Fallout 76 Review Thread - Opencritic: 55, Metacritic 50

in Gaming Discussion on 21 November 2018

Reminds me when FFXIV launched. It took SE years to fix and relaunch it. Perhaps the game never got the level SE hoped it would. Same with F76. It appears like the type of game that's fixable through future updates. How many people are willing to re-download 50GB+ with each major update? Who knows. But it's silly to buy a game with the hope it gets fixed in the future. I just got back from...
