    New EGM info/rumors

in Gaming Discussion on 04 January 2008

I doubt Sega'll bring over Yakuza 3 this fall, unless this is supposed to be a worldwide list, in which case, Yakuza 3 has a March 6 release date, no where near the fall. On sega, I don't think Valkyrie of the Battlefield will ever make it to America...and again it has a Spring release in Japan....

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams Video Review IGN 65%

in Nintendo Discussion on 25 December 2007

Depends on whhat you like. Its actually very similar to the original in so far as the flying segments are concerned, save the camera angle. The problem is the boring platforming segments and the overall rushed feel of the game. If Sonic Team had spent about six more monthes on it, I'd say it'd be alot better. As it is though, its one of the best games Sonic Team's put out in a while, which isn't...

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams Video Review IGN 65%

in Nintendo Discussion on 24 December 2007

The Gameranking thing is probably inflated by fansites, since NiGHTS the original also got mediocre scores from the main press. If you have a problem with Sega, keep it to yourself, since it seems to me, given your avatar and attitude, that you're nothing but a mindless Nintendo fanboy....

3rd party support for Wii is going fairly well.

in Sales Discussion on 24 December 2007

Sega's doing great on it. Thats all I care about. SMB and SATSR have both shifted, what, 600-800K this year? And then of course the famous Mario and Sonic and its inverse legs. I wouldn't be suprised at all if that one breaks 2 million this year alone, and does 3 million life time....

Sega may be looking to snatch up another company

in Gaming Discussion on 17 December 2007

What would make anyone say Sega's doing bad? They've just been going up since 2004, quality and for sales. Sonic and the Secret Rings wasn't a suprise hit. Its a Sonic game for christ sake. If anything, it sold under expectations. Now I can see where you're coming from if you're refering to quality, a trait that Sonic's console appearences have been lacking since the MegaDrive.Virtua Fighter and...

Mario & Sonic over 1 million now

in Nintendo Discussion on 17 December 2007

To whoever said it, the GCN had 8 Sega games sell over a million; Super Monkey Ball, SMB 2, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Mega Collection, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Riders (I'm assuming on the last two since we only have US numbers on them. However, Both sold between 550-650K just in the USA, and since Euro sales tend to be higher for Sonic games...). I...

Nintendo Power Reviews: NiGHTS, Warhammer DS, and more!

in Nintendo Discussion on 13 December 2007

Why would you expect a 50? Sega's had a good year. Virtua Fighter 5, Sonic Rush Adventure, Crush, Bleach DS, Football Manager 2008, Total War, Virtua Tennis, and Sega Rally have all averaged around or above 8s. If anything, I'd say they're on a rebound, after taking a few years to adjusting to the platform agnostic life....

Did Sega pull the plug on the DC too early?

in Gaming Discussion on 10 December 2007

Well look at Sega's sales. In 95 and 96 they ran a very close second to Nintendo in software, and were neck and neck with Sony in hardware. Thats an enviable place to be. Then in 97 they announced that Saturn wasn't their future, dumped alot of projects or ported them to DC and let the Saturn fend for itself, with just a couple of big name titles coming out in 97 or 98 (Sakura 2 and Shining Foce...

Did Sega pull the plug on the DC too early?

in Gaming Discussion on 10 December 2007

In my opinion they pulled the rug out of Saturn to early. They were winning Japan until they started moving there big titles to DC (VF3, Shenmue, Virtual On 2) and pretty much stopped hyping Saturn software (Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force 3). If they'd've kept those titles on the Saturn, and advertised them properly, they probably could've maintained their lead until 98. I think they could...

They made plenty of consoles. Granted, none are new, but I think that there are enough SEGA fans out there to make the forum lively enough. DC software still sells. According to this very site, DC sold more software this year than GCN in Japan. Not much, but its something. Furthermore, none of the companies you listed above (save Atari) have ever made a console and not even Atari dabbles in the...

I believe that, given their contributions to the gaming enviroment over their two decades of console making, and the continued innovations that they continue to make in the arcade and software market that SEGA deserves a forum to call its own. ...
