Which single game had the biggest impact on the industry?

in Gaming Discussion on 30 March 2009

I'd like to give a nod to SPACE INVADERS. The arcade machine brought about strong mainstream pubilicity, and the home version was what brought the VCS into superstar console status. ...

    Re-evaluating Chinatown Wars' "failure"

in Sales Discussion on 29 March 2009

Declan said: By GTA standards, CW's opening week was modest to say the least.  Many are already calling the game a sales failure in relation to the size of the DS userbase.    Don't worry about people who use such "fanboy" logic.  Companies create games to make money; they are not their assuming that userbase's are homogeneous.    ...

Anyone here has SSD drive in their PS3?

in Sony Discussion on 29 March 2009

Not sure if it's a good idea.Got a CF to IDE adapter to place a FLASH card in my XBOX, but when actually reading the notes on how to do it, people noted that the card would likely die quickly as the XBOX OS writes an a lot to the HDD.Got a 320 GB HDD for my PS3 for under $100... very pleased with that....

Other than DSi ware, is there really a need to buy a DSi?

in Nintendo Discussion on 18 March 2009

The sneaky hidden thing is that the DSi is not a DS.Computer hardware wise, it's more like the Wii as compared to the GameCube.Nintendo dares not to introduce a totally new machine with DS sales quite high.I expect DSi-ware will include titles that are not possible on the DS.If the promise of that is enough, it's worth it.Myself, I'll get one when the Intellivision emulator package is released on...

Strongly considering selling my Wii; is it really worth keeping?

in Nintendo Discussion on 18 February 2009

It's really your call. No one can judge your tastes as good as you. With that in mind, if you haven't bought anything in a year, it's probably worth the price to sell if and if things look better in the future, get one then (or something else...)...

Malstrom email response: The Sick Obsession of Culture in the Game Industry

in Gaming Discussion on 11 February 2009

Mr Khan said: As per usual with Malstrom, he makes a great point, but he manages to insult a lot of people while doing so, and sound very pretentious all the while. Although he was more even-handed, he insulted all hardcore gamers (including Nintendo fanboys) and not just the Wii haters   Point being there are Nintendo fanboys who fit in the same boat.  There are tons...

in Nintendo Discussion on 01 February 2009
