Could DQIX and/or DQX make a breakthrough in NA?

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 12 July 2009

I know almost nothing about the DQ series other than they are crazy-popular in Japan, but virtually unknown in North America. I've never played a DQ game, and my jRPG experience extends to the 2D Final Fantasies, FF7, Pokemon and Tales of Vesperia. Can a fan of the series or anyone give any reasoning for why they are virtually unknown in North America? Is there any chance of either of them making...

    Wii RTSes. Me want.

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 06 July 2009

Honestly, I'm surprised that no one has attempted to make a major RTS for the Wii (is there even any at all, besides Pikmin). The Wiimote would work pretty good, better than an analog stick, for sure. The Wii is more than powerful enough, Starcraft ran great on PCs with less than 10% of the Wii's power. Heck, one of my favorite games was "Warlocked" which was a really, really fun RTS for the...

My cat just urinated on a Wiimote

in General Discussion, last active on on 30 June 2009

He's black and sort of resembles a PS3, so I figured he was a Sony fan, but he also took the time to pee on a Sony remote for my Sony HDTV, so I'm starting to get the impression he's a 360 fanboy, who took things a little too far....

    Shopping online while drunk

in General Discussion, last active on on 28 June 2009

Ugh...   I just bought the Conduit, Mario Hoops 3-on-3, New Play Control Mario Power Tennis and perordered Wii Sports Resort online after some... uhh... recreational fun... Oh, and I ordered Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night decals for my Wii, Wiimote and Nunchuk. Paying bills next month is going to be fun. :)   I suppose, I should look on the bright side. Nothing there I'll regret in...

    Dual Wielding WM+ Wiimotes

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 17 June 2009

I look forward to the day, with great anticipation, when some company makes a game that has the option of dual-wielding two WM+ Wiimotes. Such possibilities... Or strap two more wiimotes on your legs for a poor-man's motion capture system, but that's probably ridiculously excessive.   Either way, dual-wielding Wiimotes=win.   On that note, are there any other games that support dual...

    The Classic Controller is Incesteous

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 10 June 2009

I bought Valkyria Chronicles today, and while waiting for the update to download, my eyes wandered and started staring at the classic controller I have sitting on my table. Looking at it, it appears that it is the love-child of a PlayStation and Super Nintendo controller. Now, considering that the PlayStation controller itself is a child of the Super Nintendo with freakish appendages growing out...

Gameboy Micro, Good Complement to DSi?

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 03 June 2009

Inevitably, at some point I'm going to get a DSi to replace my big, silver, launch week 2004 DS. Unfortunately, that leaves me in a pickle, as I play GBA games nearly as much as DS games. Hence, I was looking at getting a Gameboy Micro to complement it. While the GBM didn't sell much do to Nintendo's terrible timing with it (released a year after the DS), it still looks like a good...

Metroid: the Other M. What is the other M?

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 02 June 2009

I say Mario. Just imagine, fighting through the game, getting to the last boss, only to find MARIO. No one would see it coming. HAHAHA! ...

Who is buying all the PS2s?

in Sales Discussion, last active on on 15 May 2009

When looking at the recent sales figures, it's hard not to notice how well the PS2 is selling. While one part of that, the price, is obvious, I'm honestly still confused when I see the high sales, as I really don't know *who* is buying them all.   I'm sure one element is people who already own a PS2, buying a slim one to replace a fat one, or a second one, or replacing a broken one....
