Looks like the Farnsworth Paradox.

on 12 May 2012

hmmm haven't seen that episode. I'll check it out.

on 13 May 2012

I believe the episode name is "The Farnsworth Parabox". The name of the paradox is comes from that episode, because it looks at parallel universes, like in that episode, and argues that free will and logic aren't compatible, because free will violates the identity principle of logic.

As for myself, I really don't want to get dragged into more philosophical debates. I want to wind down the one I am in, which is going all over the place, and went from free will existing to sin existing, which was actually really meant to go into whether or not gay marriage was ok.

Was it you who had a homeless thread a while back?

Currently out of the hospital, recovering from back surgery. Not able to type much here, and am focused on trying to get a night's sleep at this point. I will be tuned out a bunch.,.

I didn't post that article, that I know of. What I do know is that, in Communist Russia, the government attacked the church by preventing it from doing charity work to help the poor. A society is messed up when its response to helping those in need is to have people say they pay taxes.

Anyhow, time to go again.

Well hope you are doing better since we last spoke. Here is a fun article for you. Not sure how into this stuff you are though.

My interest is in applying what is doable to things to get me out of where I am. Sci-f tech isn't something I am into now. Pretty much now, just my game design stuff.

on 11 April 2012

I took a look at it, then I remenbered I had been there before when I first met you about a year ago I believe

By upward mobility being stagnant... I mean the rate of upward mobility.

Upward mobility is just as likely to happen today as it was in 1994. However "non working" paths like marriage don't happen as much, furthermore things like divorce happen more which are also likely to cause a drop in upward mobility.

If N+W = X, and then later on, N+W = X but N is lower... it's pretty clear W is higher.

At least it is worth noting things are happening and there is a problem, so then the solution can be found. What has happened is that homes went from one income to two incomes. Then can the credit card usage to keep the economy going. After this came the home equity loan fiasco. A lot of this is self-inflicted, including the break down in families, and even the loss of extended families. People are less likely to have churches to to lean on (my church has helped me out to stay afloat).

And with all the debt, the bills do eventually come do, which is what is going on now.

An FPS version of Clue might be awesome.  Add in some stealth mechanics, and I can see lurking in the library as Colonel Mustard, lead pipe in hand, as something I could get behind.
