Outside of gaming I'm a writer, a socialite (offline socialite) and a news junkie who never seems to know when he should turn the TV, Radio or close his browser long enough. I read several books, write lots of short stories, novellas and novels. I enjoy taking long walks and sitting into the wee hours of the night talking to friends and family whenever I can among a nice drink or two.

As a Gamer:

There are two things that people say not to talk about online: Religion and Politics. Video games should be added to that list. As a community we gamers are a passionate and crazy bunch. Which is why I don't particularly talk about video games a lot online. It's not at the point where gamers can go without an insult or calling someone a fanboy or something like that. When we get beyond that, talking about games will be fun.

But about ME as a gamer, I typically don't care much for the actual console war at hand. As a gamer, I care more about the video games than the hardware. The hardware just wouldn't be worth getting without the software to support it, so I find rampant fanboyism to be the bane of all gaming existence (that and that stupid "Casual" and "Hardcore" debate... which is the WORST debate gaming ever got sucked into). I don't mind a preference, so to speak. But I DO mind blind loyalty and I DO mind when some idiot decides NOT to play a game based on the console it's on. That's just stupid. Gears of War or Uncharted can BOTH be great games. And it doesn't matter which one is better. What matters is that they're both fun. Good quality.

As a gamer my passion really is the video games themselves. I get my hands on any console I can because it means I can play as many games as I can. Being a gamer is about getting your hands on any damn game you can find and playing the hell out of it! It means experiencing the good, the bad and the ugly. It means playing the 360, the Wii and PS3. It's not about that Hardcore and Casual bullshit, it's about your passion for the medium itself! Real gamers couldn't care less about casual and hardcore... they pick up the game, play it and experience it because it's there. It's the only way to obtain knowledge of the medium and the only way to broaden your horizons as a gamer.

While I don't like to talk games online, I have been known to stick my head into a discussion or two, but generally speaking never like to come back, even when people respond. For the most part, I just don't like most gaming communities. But sometimes what you find on the sites themselves is interesting. And while I don't always respond to the forums I typically do read through them. But you shan't find me on the forums too much. If one wants to talk games they can do so privately, but if you're going to come at me with insults and accusations of fanboyism then you're wasting your time. I don't have time for that. And if you do, then maybe you should figure out how better to use it. Like playing a great game. I think you'll find that more entertaining than insulting me or anyone online.
