Interesting avatar ;) -- while it's easy to riff on the Wii U Gamepad, there's no doubt WiiU is heading into a state of revival anyway. Do you think if they dropped the Gamepad now it'd sell even better?

Well i wouldn't call it a revival but the bump in sales is due to MK8 and that game doesn't utilize the Gamepad in any notable way. For the other big game this year, Smash Brothers, some people even prefer the old Gamecube controller.

So releasing a version without the gamepad with a nice price cut, yeah that would boost sales a lot.

Mario Maker could be a big hit, so the the gamepad might still prove interesting, but that game isn't here yet.

My opinion: If you don't have software that makes good use of it, don't force the hardware. Give people a choice, with over 6 million gamepads out there they have enough install base to make developing games around it worth while. They should stop pusing it and make great games like MK8 more accessible with a cheaper system.

Sony Won't Explain What's Up With PS1/PS2 Games On PlayStation Now

in Sony Discussion 4 hours ago

Zekkyou said: KylieDog said:PS4 should be backwards compatible with them, more than capable. Sod streaming them. Agreed :/ It's no like they need built in hardware emulation. The PS4's own hardware should have no issue software emulating all PS1/PS2 titles. They could probably up-scale most PS2 titles to 720p before seeing any notable stability issues. From what i...
