Hey guys, it's been a while, and this is going to be a brief visit, but I do have something I want to share with you! Because, since I've just spent a semester with DADIU, I've now been part of a "real" game production. Basically we're split into teams of roughly 15 people each, consisting of programmers, artists, and what not, and we learn how to make games by building our own. So after our...

Prediction Thread: Which Vgchart Member will be the next to leave the site?

Now that God of War has fallen into the MultiPlayer darkside, What other good singleplayer games are left?

in Gaming Discussion on 30 April 2012

I honestly don't have a problem with it. Some games may degrade their singleplayer to have multiplayer, but it's not guaranteed in any way. And I personally felt God of War III was a waste of money when I got it on release. The singleplayer was nice, but at that price I would have much prefered to spend my money on games with more content, so some multiplayer is nice. Provided they make it good...

Attention programmers! Support Light Table, a new kind of IDE

in General Discussion on 29 April 2012

Conegamer said: Me? I'm still trying to master C++ >.< Hehe, well, maybe programming in this IDE will make it easier to learn. As far as I can tell, it's going to be a great learning tool, though when (if ever) C++ will be supported in it is another question. :-P...

Attention programmers! Support Light Table, a new kind of IDE

Best of luck with it. Anything that can help make programming more about writing code and less about finding documentation, printing messages for debugging and what not, is something I can support. :-)...

Attention programmers! Support Light Table, a new kind of IDE

in General Discussion on 29 April 2012

Light Table is a new kind of IDE that seeks support on Kickstarter. It's being built around these core principles: You should never have to look for documentation. Files are not the best representation of code, just a convenient serialization. Editors can be anywhere and show you anything - not just text. Trying is encouraged - changes produce instantaneous results. We can shine some...

NSMB2, WiiU mark the birth of downloadable retail games on Nintendo consoles

NSMB2, WiiU mark the birth of downloadable retail games on Nintendo consoles

in Nintendo Discussion on 29 April 2012

Ajescent said:The birth? What the fuck? My thoughts too. The WiiU is probably going to be the first home console to have digital versions of all retail games launching the same day as their retail versions, but that's hardly a birth of any kind. :-P The 360 allows you to buy many of its retail games online, the PS3 has had digital versions of retail games launch the same day as at...

The Official Guild Wars 2 thread *** First non-NDA beta is live! Impressions inside

in PC Discussion on 29 April 2012

Buzzi said: Two main concerns for me are the animation (at least the one of the charr) when you run, and the system of targeting/engaging combat. The former is annoying, it looks like there's no gravity, the cursor on the map procedes speedly, but the character moves sooo slowly in the enviroment! The latter could be another choice of developers...I was expecting something similar to WoW,...
