    About Me:

    Queen Gambles and Wins Raffle!
Playing in raffles is a lot of fun, and when they are played for charity, then you know that whether you win or lose, some one will benefit from your fun Gratorama. It seems, however, that Queen Elizabeth II also seems to think the same way. Her Majesty can expect the arrival of a bottle of shampoo and two bars of soap in the post, of which it is to be sure that she will be very pleased.

Organizers of the raffle at the Fax Hill Primary School in Notting Hill, West London thought at first that some one was having a prank with them. Upon picking the lucky raffle ticket, they found that the name written on it was “The Queen, Buckingham Palace.” Upon further examination, however, it was discovered that the Queen did buy a number of raffle tickets from an employee of the Palace, who was children in the school. Overhearing a discussion, The Queen offered to buy a few tickets.

The Queen’s prize is two bars of soap and a bottle of shampoo. A Palace spokesman said that Her Majesty prefers baths to showers, and so will be very pleased with her prize. Apart from this incident, it seems that the Queen is not averse to gambling, if it is done with taste. She is a big fan of horseracing and has been known to place a small wager with her friends on her favorites.

It is not known, however, how the Queen feels about the new British Gambling Act, which many critics feel has failed its purpose, and will drive investors and online casino operators from the island, due to the high 15% tax levied from gambling operations, be they whatever they might be.
