FPS haters due to dual analog control!

in Gaming Discussion on 12 February 2009

It only spazzed out for me when I pointed off the screen while I was respawning. Annoying, but I could just restart from a checkpoint and I'd lose no progress as I'd already be back there....

FPS haters due to dual analog control!

in Gaming Discussion on 09 February 2009

Wiimote and mouse are both great.Single analog (e.g. Goldeneye) is acceptable for games where it aims for you (generalisation, I know about manual aim, I'm not stupid).Dual analog is horrible. The Wiimote and the mouse (if you're good enough) just let you aim so quickly. With enough practice at Wii FPS, you can know exactly where to point for a headshot. IMO, dual analog is either so unsensitive...

Edit: Previous text was a stupid question. Essentially what I'm asking is if I install a game of a friend's backup and then buy the game, will Steam realise I already have the files and skip the download?...

Buying from Steam would be the best, but looking at those download sizes it's not going to happen. I shall have to investigate buying a license off Steam.Actually HL2's size isn't that bad. Thanks anyway though....

Counter-Strike Source, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. The rest will probably be mods off the Internet and I can tell the size of those. However, I know people who own these games and hence I'd like to know if I can use their backups to install and then buy an activation key. Someone mentioned that once to me, but they may have been BSing....

What age group do you see at your consoles gaming section.

in Gaming Discussion on 09 February 2009

I always see annoying 13-year olds buying PS3 games. About 15-year olds for 360 games. Wii games are usually bought either by 10-or under boys, adults, or girls of any age....

Hey guys. I'm thinking of finally getting CS (slow, I know) along with some other Steam games that to the best of my knowledge can't be bought on CD/DVD. Problem is, I don't want to bust my download limit and Steam doesn't tell you file sizes. Does anyone know where I can find this information? inb4 looking at torrent file sizes, sometimes they're missing files and not a good indication....

    Wii Technical Troubles

in Nintendo Discussion on 27 December 2008

Hey guys. Just wondering if any of you have ever had this problem and know how to fix it. So yesterday we got a new TV. An LCD full-HD 100Hz one that is awesome, especially compared to my old 60Hz non-flatscreen CRT. So I go and plug in the antenna, DVD and Wii and install the TV stations. I then test the DVD and the Wii. DVD works, Wii doesn't. It just says "Unknown Signal" on the TV. I think...
