Are you on Steam?
When my kid is old enough I'll probably start gaming with him again. :)
Season's greetings! I would like to personally invite you to join this year's Steam Secret Santa event, thread link below. Please drop by and help us make this holiday season a bit more merry for everyone. Looking forward to seeing you there!
So get this. A while back (like 2 years), I asked you about a failed SMART test on my dad's computer. Low and behold, the hard drive finally completely crashed on us.
Well, with our luck, my dad's hard drive at his office was acting up as well, and that crashed within weeks of the same time. Lets take the story about 2 weeks later, and another guy at my dad's office just had his hard drive crash too. I ordered these 2 computers at the same time...I guess it was cheap parts.
3 danged hard drives all crashing in like a months time. 2 of the computers were only 2 years old, and the other probably 4. Just ridiculous.
Regardless, my dad has since learned his lesson, and he now has me build his computers with much more reliable parts instead of ordering the cheap ones.
In terms of hard drives and backup storage, I've started using FreeNAS and its awesome. I built a dedicated machine with over 12TB of storage which uses ZFS and allows me to plug in any spare drives I have to add to my total storage at any time. If a drive fails, I just unplug it without any data loss...
Something to consider if you're tired of dealing with multiple external hard drives and them failing.

If they do it it won't be because of consoles. Microsoft doesn't really buy anything because of consoles... Hell they didn't buy the company that made Kinect and let Apple buy them. For PC's though, I could see this happening and would be a very smart move. All AMD needs is some of Microsoft's cash to invest in R&D and die shrink for their chips, and they could be very competitive with...
The_BlackHeart__ said:PS4 and PC here. Who ever buys an XBoxOne this holiday is investing in a dying device. Microsoft is moving on. Windows 10 is their new focus. Not so fast jimmy... Xbox One is becoming a Windows 10 based PC and is not dying by any means. Also I can pick Xbox One up for $299 here in Canada with Halo MCC. PC with the specs of Xbox One will cost...
noname2200 said:Help me out here: going through your list, why wouldn't I just skip the Xbox then? You'd have to like Halo, Forza, Gears, and other games exclusive to Xbox, Xbox One makes sense. You would also want to play 360 games you own and love on the PC. For me personally this makes too much sense. I have 148 Xbox 360 games and 30+ Xbox One games and 100+ PC games...
