I see you're a Retro gamer, Do you have a GB Micro?

That's actually the only Nintendo handheld variant I do not own yet (well, that and some game and watches). I've been trying to find it second hand in the Netherlands, but I don't think it sold a lot of units. I've got a retromarket next month though, so I hope to find it there

    on 15 December 2014

    Retro market? What's that?

    on 15 December 2014

Not sure if there's a better word for it, but its a convention/market where people buy/sell their (mostly retro) games

    on 15 December 2014

    You lucky bastard!
I've always wanted to go to one since I'm a Retro enthusiast myself, but Nobody really cares about Retro gaming in the middle east ):
I've been having trouble finding a GB Micro, I really want one! I'm currently eying one on eBay, but I'm not sure if the bidding's gonna be in my price range, I'll know tommorow though :P

    on 15 December 2014

Yeah it's awesome! I've been buying (and selling) retro games for a while now, and have most of the games I consider essential (still some exceptions of course). But its great to have this place with many enthusiasts to talk/trade/sell/buy games with.

Just recently I found out that this one guy who's been buying something from me every year for a couple of years now, is a contributor to Nintendo Life and does speedruns, Pretty cool.

Anyway, good luck tommorow. Hope you win the auction!

    on 15 December 2014

    It does sound awesome.
Thanks! I hope so too! I was originally looking at another GB Micro (which was cheaper than this one and had tons of functional flaws like broken buttons and a broken speaker, which I planned to manually fix), but that one has tons of high bids now ):
This one is completely functional, but it has cosmetic flaws (cracked and broken faceplate and scratched corners), but it's good enough for what I'm paying, and I can always replace the faceplate later.
I really wish Nintendo made more of this little guy, I actually didn't know a ton about it before, I didn't know that it had a wireless adapter and a link cable and everything.

    on 15 December 2014

Yeah the fact it has removable faceplates is great! Also, the screen is of better quality than regular GBA and SP I think. Sales were probably hurt a lot by the DS which had already been released at the time. I know that's why I didn't get one when it released

    on 15 December 2014

Yeah, the DS was great, but I didn't like how it killed of the Gameboy brand...

    on 15 December 2014

Very true. Just hearing the word 'Gameboy' fills me with nostalgia. They were great systems. Of course I will probably feel the same way when/if the next Nintendo handheld drops the DS name

    on 15 December 2014

    Yeah ):
People over here still call handhelds "Ataris" XD

    on 15 December 2014

    they do? that's hilarious :P
Never seen much Ataris around here...

    on 16 December 2014

Ataris never really came here either, The name just got popular because of those cheap gameboy knock offs that played Tetris, which were called "Atari" XD

    on 16 December 2014

    Awww... I lost ):

    on 16 December 2014

If you do manage to find more than one at the Retro market, I'd love to buy it off you!

    on 16 December 2014

    That's too bad :(

I'll see if I can find something. I'll let you know if I do!

    on 17 December 2014

    Thanks a lot!

So we're gonna see Paper Mario Color Splash tomorrow. Does anyone still believe it wont be Sticker Star 2?

in Nintendo Discussion on 15 June 2016

It could still be very good, we don't know a lot about it yet. Will it be TTYD 2? Probably not, but it might be a great game in its own right....

It exceeded my expectations, and those were very high. It looks absolutely fantastic and I love the focus on exploration and large amount of details and options that are available. i just can't stop watching videos of it. Nintendo delivered....
