Why I Use Review Aggregates like Opencritic/Gamerankings

in Gaming Discussion on 13 May 2019

Most games are decently functional these days so they should be getting at least a passing score which would be a minimum of a 7 like in school/college. It's only everything after that is much harder to get and it makes sense. If a game has little to no glitches, decent pacing, decent gameplay that's functional and fun (doesn't need to be amazing or anything) has at least ok production values...

Why bother buying consoles next gen?

Burning Typhoon said: LMU Uncle Alfred said: You didn't ask about anything.  You just said you had a lot of games that you say run well, but not everybody has the same PC set up as you.  You also don't get to dictate what games are relevant for this as people play all different kinds of games with different set ups.   It's also not all about specs. ...

I am running drivers from November last year. It's perfectly fine...

Burning Typhoon said: LMU Uncle Alfred said: Depends on when you got some of the games and which games you have.  Some of the games have been fixed, but it can end up taking a long time for that to happen. https://www.pcgamer.com/the-worst-pc-ports-ever/ This is just a small sample from a few years ago, but there's obviously issues with games being ported over. To add to...

What JRPG has the best soundtrack you´ve ever heard?

in Gaming Discussion on 26 December 2018

FF7 easily. It has eveything down. The quality is at the highest, one of the most enormous quantities of soundtracks I've ever heard, and a variety of tracks that hit every emotion including more nuanced feelings down very well. Some other notable soundtracks include FF9, Chrono Cross, FF8 and most recently Nier Automata. ...

Best campaign of the Halo series, and why

in Microsoft Discussion on 24 November 2018

Halo 1. Mainly because it had such a mysterious atmosphere. Great AI and just enough different weapons and options without being too crowded. That and it has by far the best story in any Halo game. When the flood enters it's very surprising because when you play the game you're thinking this is just going to be another bro shooter against a single alien threat. It kind of is, but it has...
