Lack of new games on Switch

in Nintendo Discussion on 19 May 2018

areason said: Honestly why are you surprised? Given Nintendo's recent track record with third party sales, and the specs of the Switch It's pretty obvious that the Switch wasn't going to get good third party support. And when it comes to Nintendo, it's impossible to have them pump out more then 2-3 big games a year. Essentially this. Even in the Wii's heyday, it wasn't like...

    Upgrading to PS4 Pro

in Sony Discussion on 12 May 2018

Man if it had an UHD blu ray player built in it would have been day one purchase for me. I'm sure I will buy one down the line anyway once the price drops and I'll install an SSHD into it to improve load times....

Which of the Big 3 Responds Best to What Fans Want?

in Gaming Discussion on 05 May 2018

I would say Sony in the longterm and very recently Microsoft. Sony dropped a huge bomb when they announced the $299 pricepoint. They went compact disk when Nintendo stuck with cartridges even though developers were against it(Square and Namco did not release a single game for the n64, I think Capcom released one). They were the first to make their console region free of the big three(I think the...

PS4Pro: System Wide Supersampling Added In 5.50 System Update

in Sony Discussion on 03 February 2018

Pemalite said: Now I am interested in a PS4. Can a Playstation 4 Pro owner tell me if they have native 1440P output support? My Xbox One X doesn't, and I don't want to game at 1080P. Not a Pro owner but I can tell you that neither machine supports 1440P... If the game outputs are 1440P it is then upscaled to 2160P. They only support the traditional TV resolutions sadly....

Switch-The platform of ports and shovelware

in Nintendo Discussion on 14 January 2018

Remasters and last-gen ports are now commonplace across all three platform holders. They don't take as long to produce and help pad out the library. Also many people did not get to play games like Tropical Freeze because the Wii U did not sell well(sadly) so they Donkey Kong brand benefits as does the Switch brand. I don't see a problem with this as the console has not been out even a year and...

Given that the console has been out over a month now and it has been beating the PS4 Pro in pretty much every comparison(not unexpected but still a huge benefit), has the Xbox One X landed with an explosion? Or a thud? We never did get proper sales statistics but what is your opinion? Is it a success for a $499 console? PS I was talking to my brother about it the other day and it is $650AUS here...
