Hello. I've rejected your submission of Assault Android Cactus because you sent it with the wrong developer. You put Witch instead of Witch Beam. Please send it again with the correct info.

Witch Beam doesn't exist within the database. I typed Witch Beam in, and it said that I had to choose from the list.

on 26 June 2019

Ok, I've added Witch Beam to the DB. If that ever happens again, please ask the DB team to add the dev/publisher, so we may add them.

on 27 June 2019

Sure thing! :D

on 27 June 2019

I tried adding the game twice now. The site says that it is already in the database. But when I look for the Switch version of the game, it is not there.

on 27 June 2019

Ok, this happens sometimes. Give me a minute and I'll ask someone on the DB to remove it so that it gets added again properly.

on 28 June 2019

Ok, the game is in the DB already.

Why do you spend 80% of your time on this site talking about things you do not understand? This is a pattern.

I linked to 5 sources stating what DRM is. None of them agreed with Pemalite, Chazore, or Conina. I suggest you take a course in info lit.

on 17 September 2018

See, how do you even know I'm talking about that specific subject? Or that I agree with Pemalite, or Chazore, or Conina? Oh wait, you don't.

So you're back to the stupid old "info lit" meme? That's basically the same thing as when you said I should take a class in analysis. Boring.

I'm just saying it's clear to anyone that you spend most of your time on this site purposely attacking subjects that everyone knows that you are ignorant on. It seems purposeful since people point that out to you all the time, but you don' t listen. Just like now, where you think suggesting a course is somehow a great defense.

I literally do not care at all about the DRM argument. I just see this pattern and it's headache inducing.

on 17 September 2018

Examples then?

on 17 September 2018

Any argument you've ever been in, many of which involved me. Except the DRM one because I haven't caught up on it yet.

on 17 September 2018

For example I think even you can admit that your thread about "big switch games" was a fucking disaster and your criteria was very slippery.

Your steam thread was very misleading and honestly it's weird to me that even whilst you're thinking of building a PC you still have an extremely clear bias against the platform.

Your idea about metacritic scores have literally become a meme, both on the site and off it.

Half your arguments consist of a "Only the games I like count" mentality, which honestly makes sense in certain circumstances, but you abuse it to the point it runs dry.

And your fetishistic ideas of indie games while hating on titles like PUBG is incredibly ironic.

If you just had a change of heart for all of these that'd be one thing, no one would care. But you are so adamant on arguing points that people deconstruct time and time again. It is just odd.

on 17 September 2018

I'll give you the steam thread, and the big games thread. Both were flawed. The steam thread relied on faulty information. The thread on big Nintendo games had to do with my personal disappointment in Nintendo's E3, but instead of just stating that I tried to make it about the number of quality games according to review aggregates.

Reviewers are usually right, when you add up all their opinions together into an aggregate. If a system of user-reviews were able to weed out the trolls, the inexperienced, and the easily pleased then they'd be pretty accurate too. In the end review aggregates are just user-reviews, with a bit of self policing, in effect. And to further keep things accurate I use Opencritic with a custom list of trusted reviewers, set to give me personalized scores.

But I don't always buy or not buy a game based solely on scores. I won't touch Destiny 2 with a ten foot pole, but am probably going to pick up labyrinth of refrain. RDR2 is a game that I'm waiting on due to all the MTS in it, but I picked up Ever Oasis on the first day it came out.

But anyway, I feel like critic review aggregates aren't absolute indicators of a game's quality. It's more like they are a representation of a probability of being good. But that's for another thread, that I'll make later on down the road. Needs Venn diagrams and stuff.

Fetishistic ideas about Indie games? Not sure what you mean. Unless you mean, that I really love Indie games. But PUBG isn't an Indie game. Bluehole made MMOs and other stuff long before they did PUBG. They have been a huge corp long before PUBG came out. I hate PUBG, because its an asset flip that has become ridiculously popular. It abused Early Access, and is only popular because of course it is a military FPS.

The only the games I like mentality sounds the same as the putting trust in reviewers thing you mentioned above.

on 17 September 2018

To be honest I watched Norm Macdonald has a show, came back, talked on discord, then completely forgot why I even wanted to argue in the first place with you lol. It's whatevz. You're allowed your own opinion, sorry for trying to change who you are.

< Cerebralbore101 updated his status:

Just to elaborate further. Do you really think Nintendo can make one console game, with the same amount of work that it takes to make a handheld game? Of course they can't. Console games take ten times as much work as a 3DS title. So handheld games would have been useless for predicting Nintendo's future yearly output.

So to recap.

Smash: Spawned a lasting, critically acclaimed series, should have gotten higher if not for reviews posted years later, and sold well.

Wii Sports: Spawned a series that didn't last, and didn't sell well at all, because giving your game away =/= selling your game.

on 29 June 2018

So, with your sig I guess you're still trying to deny that Pokemon Let's Go is a big release; despite the fact that the thread you made originally referred to "big titles", and didn't make any mention of Metascore until after people brought that game up and then you came up with a way to disqualify it. For one: has anyone here even claimed that Pokemon Let's Go would get higher than 78? If not, I don't see who it's even supposed to be directed at.

Metascore is what I originally meant by big. If you look at my thread from the day before that one you can see the thought process. Notice how the thread from the day before talks about 80% and up being quality games? My first thread had to do with Nintendo's average yearly output of quality 1st party titles. My second thread had to do with the fact that Smash Ultimate was going to be Nintendo's only quality title this year.

Yes, I should have elaborated more, but in the first thread, I did just that. And people ignored it. If you go back and look you'll see that I mentioned why I didn't go into handheld analysis. And yet people kept asking me about handheld analysis throughout the thread. So I tried to keep the second thread short, and sweet. Didn't work though.

on 29 June 2018

Your main problem with those threads is that they were inconsistent; with both of them you would come up with reasons as to why some counted while others didn't. In the end it was just you wanting us to prove your opinion wrong, which of course is impossible as we can't disprove an opinion.

on 29 June 2018

Yep. That's why I edited and changed the list of the first thread as people mentioned things I missed. Totally just wanted someone to "prove my opinion wrong." Right? Seriously though, if I was looking for that I would have stuck with my original list all thread long, and denied anybody else's additions or exclusions. The fact that I didn't do that is proof that the spirit of the thread was genuine. And the second thread, when looked at in the context of the first thread makes sense, when interpreted as "games with metascore above 80%". But that was too wordy for a thread title so I threw the word "big" around. And I already explained why the second thread's OP was so short. Even if I had gone into extreme detail to explain myself ahead of time, people would have ignored it, and talked about things that I already addressed.

on 29 June 2018

Next time I make a thread, it's going to be a million mile long OP, that explains everything ahead of time. Then when people fail to read it, I'll just call them out for not being able to read.

on 29 June 2018

You had an arbitrary list of exceptions, counting Super Smash Bros. but not Wii Sports, which made it impossible to have a proper discussion. The lack of handheld titles also seemed pretty arbitrary as that is where many of Nintendo's biggest hits were. As for the second thread, we're on a sales-related site, if you say "big" (again, not sure why big would even be assumed to be by critic scores, as many titles that sold a lot were not highly rated), most people are going to automatically think of sales.

on 29 June 2018

Yeah, counting Smash (above 80%), but not Wii Sports (below 80%). In a thread that was all about Nintendo's output of quality (80% and up) games over the past 22 years.

I explained in the OP that I wasn't going to touch handheld titles, because the workload going from handheld to console increased exponentially. Congrats on being one of the idiots that failed to read the thread's OP.

Yeah you are right about the "big" thing. I should have elaborated on that in the OP to the second thread. I've made that mistake more than once on these forums. But again, big as in sales, wasn't what I meant. The context of the first thread shows that.

on 29 June 2018

Nope, Super Smash Bros. is below 80%, you even stated that in the thread. And it doesn't matter that you say why you excluded handheld games, that was an arbitrary decision made by you, so of course people are going to call it out.

on 29 June 2018

Well, it did spawn a series that went on to get 80% from then on out. And if you look at the gamerankings score, there are several reviews that are written way after the fact like 02, 04, etc. Electric Playground gave it a 2/10 in 2004 for example. Anyway, yes I gave it a 1.5 point bump, because of the legacy of the series.

But that's hypocritical because I refused to add Wii Sports? A title that came free with the Wii? Like I said in the thread, sales don't mean anything if the game is free.

on 29 June 2018

You don't know the meaning of arbitrary. The goal in mind was to try to predict how many games Nintendo would make for Switch. Handheld data is fairly useless for that analysis for the reasons I stated. Arbitrary means, without reason. I stated my reasons.

on 29 June 2018

Wii Sports was not originally a pack-in in Japan, yet it still was on top of the Wii sales charts in that region, so it shows that the game had appeal itself, it wasn't just the console that people cared about, they also cared about the game.

on 29 June 2018

So to recap.

Smash: Spawned a lasting, critically acclaimed series, should have gotten higher if not for reviews posted years later, and sold well.

Wii Sports: Spawned a series that didn't last, and didn't sell well at all, because giving your game away =/= selling your game.

on 29 June 2018

That still doesn't change the fact that it didn't sell 82 million worldwide. Or the fact that the series is now dead. Or the fact that it contributed to the rise of waggle shovelware for the Wii, which in turn made Nintendo synonymous with crappy games, for an entire console generation. In the long run Wii Sports did more damage to Nintendo than it helped.

on 29 June 2018

You just ignored my point about Wii Sports selling well in Japan. There was also of course the 30+ million selling Wii Sports Resort. Of course the series isn't going to last though, you can't really make a game titled "Wii Sports" on the Switch.

on 29 June 2018

I added Resort due to the scores it got. Series just needed to be renamed, and continued with the same look/feel.

on 29 June 2018

The main problem we are having here, is that you don't like that I made an exception for Smash.

But I think you have to understand that I hate that kind of "can't see the forest for the trees" analysis. For example: Pachter claims that consoles are dying, because not as many consoles were sold in the 8th gen, as in the 7th gen. But he fails to take important factors into account, such as the Wii sales bubble, and the fact that XboxOne isn't needed, due to having almost no exclusives.

A dry, analytic analysis with zero common sense exceptions being made, can often come to a ridiculous conclusion. So I try to avoid it. Human input is important from time to time.

on 29 June 2018

I'm against you adding Smash because you yourself listed the criteria and then did not stick to that criteria, thus the topic shifted to talking about the rules rather than what you originally wanted to discuss.

on 06 April 2018

Hmmmm ... how is Monster Hunter World treating you?

I was expecting a little more based on the trailer I saw last year. Aside from being able to have monsters fight, and better graphics it's the same game as the Wii/3DS games. One thing I've noticed is that since the community is split between PS4/XB1/PC there's a lot less hunters to play with. On the Wii/3DS you had to fight for a spot on a four man hunting team because it was so crowded. Now you're lucky to have a party of 3. Overall though, I like it. Monster Hunter was always the sort of game that had no business being on a handheld.

on 20 March 2018

We are now enemies again.

on 20 March 2018

Lol why? Do you hate or love MHW?

on 22 March 2018

Oh I love it. I just disagree with the notion that it's too similar to the 3DS games. You have the ammo pods which you can use to destroy parts of the environment, the scout flies really add a new dynamic to the game that rewards you for collecting monster evidence, the hanging beatles that you can attach yourself to really makes jumping attacks that much cooler, you have a radial menu that allows for easy item use, being able to catch little creatures and make them your pets is nice, and they reworked a lot of weapons (they even added a new way to dodge for the Great Sword).

But yeah ... I guess at the end of the day, the differences are mostly things that affect the game's longevity ... they're "quality of life" changes so to speak, so they are probably lost in translation and don't seem that impactful while playing I guess. The new ways to use the environment are really awesome, though, and pretty noticeable.

The only real problems I have with the game are that they dumbed down the grinding too much, now it's too easy to craft certain items and equipment, and that there's just not that many monsters. There's still a lot granted, but I'd like to see at least a couple more.

on 23 March 2018

Ha! Everything you just mentioned are things that I fully expected for a full blown home console version of MH, not running on a Wii. I guess I just took it all for granted without noticing.

Also, what's this new way to dodge with the greatsword? I'm a greatsword user, and am still hitting X/A to dodge.

on 23 March 2018

That's ok lol, I'm not actually mad.

I guess it's not a "dodge" as much as it is a parry system. You have to time it. It's like a ... tackle. If you press O and then O you can activate it. Or when you get out of roll (X) you can press Triangle. Or after you charge your blade once you can activate it while charging using O. It's super powerful if you know how to use it, it basically stuns enemies and makes you take almost no damage if you time it right.

on 24 March 2018

Just beat the game. Until you get Bomber armor, 75% through the game, being a greatsword user sucks. You need the earplugs on the Bomber armor or else you miss out on so many hits. You can't use gems in this game to get as many skills as you could in Tri, so getting your own custom build takes a lot longer. Too many creatures fly for too damned long. Meaning you always have to be sure to carry and use flashpods. Early game tricks you into wasting time grinding for armor spheres when late game you get completely new armor.

I'm loving post-game though. There are missions to hunt multiple monsters at once. Investigations, and Elder Melder make getting rare items a lot easier. There are ultra secret gems that very rarely drop, and give you really good abilities

The Gunlance is fun too. Using Barroth Armor to get stamina drain, and then using Wyvernfire once they are too tired to move.

on 18 April 2018

What with your signature ?

Since Nintendo merged their Handheld, and Console divisions, we should be getting handheld franchises like Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and Poke'mon on Switch.

Since 3DS and Vita are both leaving the market, this means Switch will be the only place for AA developers like Atlus, Falcom, Square Enix's handheld division, etc. to go.

We are already seeing a deluge of AA games being planned for or released for the Switch this year. We've got Ys VIII, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Dragon Quest Builders, Octopath Traveler, and DQ XI.

Falcom's Trails series should be coming to Switch too.

None yet. I think I'll hold onto it. Prices seem to have already dropped a ton. Too many people already selling theirs for $150. Games go for $10-$30 now. Mostly $30. Even a rare game like XCX only goes for $20.

on 21 January 2018

Dude, I'm playing EO5 right now and it's so great : D . Have you played the other games? How would you rank them?

I just finished the main story of EO5 today! The game is great, and has a very challenging and scary post game content.

I've played EOU2, EO4, and EO5. I still need to play Persona Q and EOU.

I would rank them as EO4, then EOUII, and finally EO5. Four is better overall because of airships, cross classing, epic music, and deeper sidequests. It blows the other games out of the water.

EOU2 is a lot like EO5 but much more difficult and a few more classes.

EO5 is really good, but kind of treads old ground. It's basically EOU2 but easier, more exposition/lore, and a bonkers postgame. Oh and no story mode of course.

How far are you in EO5? What is your team comp?

on 16 November 2017

Nice! I'll probably buy all the games in 2018. I'll probably go back to the Untold games first though.

I'm still a noobie, so don't judge me! Lol. I'm about 10 hours into the game, i'm only at the 4th floor of the first Stratum! In order of my team composition it is Masuroa > Pugilist > Fencer > Necromancer > Shaman. I think my team is pretty good, then again the game's meta is above me. What's your team?

on 16 November 2017

Your team comp is actually really good. Three frontline physical attackers each with a different damage type, buffed by a Shaman, and healed with the Necro right? Oh and High Ground to buff the front line's damage further? Right?

My current team is a lockdown team.
Masurao, Puglist, and Harbinger frontline. Necro and Botanist Backline.

Masurao is my buff/debuffer/Electric Damage.
Puglist ties down hands/feet/arms so bosses can't use their big attacks.
Harbinger dishes out Paralyze/Panic/Curse and then Ice Damage.
Necro heals and orders Wraiths to protect the party.
Botanist dishes out Poison/Blind, and then Nukes them with a massive fire attack (That needs the opponent to be debuffed and status effected at the same time.)

The goal of my party is to keep the boss effected by status effects so he can't attack, or misses attacks.

on 16 November 2017

Oh crap, am I using my classes wrong? I have it as Masurao for massive damage and sleep, Pugilist for bind/locking head, arms, and legs, Fencer for additional damage, Necromancer for Fire bomb and Poison bombs and defense debuffs on enemies, and Shaman for healing, full retreat and DEF/ATK buffs. To be honest I need to focus on what perks I unlock a little bit more, i'm pretty satisfied with all my party members except my Fencer because he only adds damage to the team. Could also probably find a secondary means to use my shaman.

I think the game is fairly easy but there were 3 moments where i had to restart the game because it's Perma-death(?) and three times I accidently got killed by the mini bosses : P I just had to restart because a lobster killed three of my party members and I couldn't full retreat. I suck!

on 16 November 2017

The meta is pretty open outside of a few general rules like have a way to heal, deal as many different damage types as possible, and only have one party member to summon pets like Bunkers or Wraiths.

on 16 November 2017

Nah, don't worry. Those classes can all be used the way you are using them and do fine. It isn't any better/worse than what I guessed at. The only thing that is wrong, is that the Necro isn't good at elemental damage. Using him as a debuffer/poisoner is a good build though.

on 16 November 2017

Ah okay, thanks. That's good to hear. So i'm not completely fucking up xD yet!

on 16 November 2017

No problem. Don't worry the game will let you know if your team comp/builds suck. Party wipe to a Blue F.O.E. more than once, and that's when it's time to delevel/respec. :D

on 16 November 2017

Oh just one question. What's the stat used for fire damage? Cause you're right, i've noticed my necro sucks at fire damage but is great at poison. Her MAGATK is high so i assumed it would make for a good fire character

on 16 November 2017

INT effects all magic damage. The Necro just has poor scaling with it's fire damage. First you gotta spend 5 mana to summon your wraith, and then 15 mana for 141% of INT fire damage (20 mana total). Meanwhile the Warlock only takes 12 mana for a 169% INT attack.

I'm sorry if I come off like a dick when i say what i'm about to say, but seriously man ... you make it *very* frustrating to converse with you. You usually don't understand what I'm saying(this is the third time in a row you restated something that agreed with my point without realizing it), you don't usually have arguments based on facts or thorough analysis, most of your viewpoints are based on how you *feel* (Switch prediction 1, "Big ip" discussion), and you argue endlessly whenever I try to end a discussion. The last part is kind of my fault for going along with the discussion but you usually say wrong things and if i just leave them be then I would never clear up my points. I'm only coming to you and saying this because I feel like we argue every thread we're both in ... I almost feel like we're doing it on purpose subconsciously. But I don't *like it*. As much as I like friendly discourse, your points are so infuriating and even when you're shown evidence to prove the contrary to your point ... you continue making slippery arguments or say just down right wrong things. Again, sorry if this makes me look like an asshole, but this isn't even a case of me thinking i'm right all the time. You just argue all the time and never give up on your point when you're shown evidence against it.

How am I supposed to respond to that? Do you do this with every user? Just argue endlessly? And again it's so opinionated it loses validity. Every argument is based on opinions but come on man. It's almost to the point where I wish there was a block button, and you aren't even a bad user! I had you on my friends list because you were a cool user! But a lot of the times your points are just headache inducing.

I don't mind people challenging my opinions, it happens all the time. But here's the thing. Some users I don't take seriously because they're so beyond facts that you just have to laugh at them. Some users you have to actually try hard to convince because they're smart people who have logical viewpoints and great counter points. You are *right* in between, you're smart and not completely over the top but your points are quite frankly shaky at best and you *never* back down from your viewpoints. And I don't know how to proceed with someone like that ... if I keep arguing that's wasting my time, making me into an asshole because i'm passive aggressive, and giving me a headache. If I don't you'll just keep arguing or keep a viewpoint that is flawed forever. When I say"Ok, let's just not argue" you keep doing it... (this last time I just made a closing point ... not trying to keep the discussion going)

So with this said, I would like you either A : To try to understand my points better(even if you argue the "new" ip part was my fault, which I really don't think it was, the fact that you constantly restate things that are literally my point and then try to use them against me just goes to show your lack of understanding... this has happened like three times), to not be afraid to just say "i'm wrong"(i do this all the time ... honestly), to finish a convo(props for doing it this time...), or to make logical points. I'm wrong a lot of the time. Seriously, I've been wrong numerous times on this forum. I don't just argue endlessly to just prove i'm totally not wrong. OR ..... for B ... you could : Don't argue with me at all. Seriously.

Also, your analogies are awful. Just don't do an analogy if you can't think of a good one. Not every argument needs an analogy. But you use them a lot ... even when they make no sense.

on 03 October 2017

The funny thing about this is that I'm all about evidence and reason. I hate it when people think that feeling amounts to evidence, and would never use it. The problem here is that definitions have become gray areas as of late. It used to be that you could look a word up in the dictionary and it would have a reasonable official meaning. But there is a theory that words mean whatever people think, and intend for them to mean. For example Nimrod, doesn't mean idiot. Nimrod is the name of a great hunter in the bible. So why then do people think that Nimrod means idiot? Because Bugs Bunny sarcastically called Elmer Fudd, Nimrod in a cartoon, making fun of the fact that he is a terrible hunter. But that went over most people's heads, so now Nimrod is synonymous with idiot. And guess what? That's now a definition the dictionary. But anyway, my point here is that the meaning of words no longer has any concrete basis, if it ever did. We could argue all day over what an I.P. is and it would be pointless. In the Switch sales prediction thread I based my reasoning on the fact that Switch was selling X about of units per week. But I neglected to remember that holidays usually have sales go through the roof. Once someone pointed that out I quickly changed my prediction because I realized I didn't have all the relevant facts. I don't think you truthfully know or understand how logic works. Do you know what validity and soundness in an argument is? The last time I dissected my own argument into pure propositional logic you called it nonsense. Also, keep in mind that unless you state something specifically, a lot of people won't understand what you mean.

For real though man. If you want to converse with me and have a good time, use propositional logic. Point out any fallacies I've made. Avoid using inductive arguments at all costs. If you have to use inductive arguments make sure you have at least three of them, for the same point, and make sure they are extremely strong (an inductive argument is never right or wrong, only strong or weak).

Oh one more thing. You keep saying how you've provided evidence for something, but that's not all you need for a convincing argument. Oftentimes your evidence is correct, but your argumentation is lacking. This is what I mean when I say an argument needs to be both valid and sound. And please don't get upset when you argue with me. Or at least try not to act on those emotions. The fact that you are getting angry just goes to show that you see your ideas and beliefs as extensions of yourself, rather than things that deserve scrutiny. An attack on one of your ideas is not an attack on yourself.

No offense, but criticizing me shows a lack of self awareness. Again, im ipen to criticism, your criticism is just wrong ... and laughable given your history of arguments. Especially the "your argumentation is lacking" part reeks of trying to pin as little of the blame on yourself as possible. This is npt a me problem. Its a you problem. Trying to pin a lot of it on me isnt making it "fair", just false.

..and it seems i was wrong, you dont know how to end a convo.

on 03 October 2017

Ad hominem attack based in psychology. Contradicting me instead of doing a proper rebuttal. Appeal to ridicule. And more of the same psychological ad hominem attack.

on 03 October 2017

Oh armchair critic now? well that wont get you anywhere. You just suck at arguments, of you want to improve stop blaming others and get common sense. You dont have to agree but end the convo and move on.

on 03 October 2017

Failure to understand when someone is pointing out logical fallacies. Ad hominem attack. Appeal to popularity. Failure to take one's own advice.

Lol, also can I just delete this and let bygones be bygones

Didn't want to derail the thread. The DS games sold for $30, I remember because I was sad about the price bump for 3DS games to $40.

Thanks. I couldn't find anything on it online, but I remembered the same. In any case DS was much more affordable than 3DS. I love the 3DS now, but I feel that Nintendo leaned too far towards the Vita end of the graphics/price spectrum. That kinda hurt it's sales IMO.

How would you rank the games in your signature? : D curious

Breath of the Wild, Horizon, Persona 5, and finally Nier.

So Zelda is your favorite? Dang : D

on 06 August 2017

Out of those, yes. There are games that I personally like more than those though.

Logged into Splatoon today for the first time in ages. Weapons Shopkeeper was like "Oh you have a new weapon" for a good solid five minutes. :D

Did I already ask if your name is based on Turok?

No, but it is!

Finished BotW. It was a really good game, but also super long. Farming dragon parts and stars at the end was annoying. Next up is Neir: Automata!

the way you put it it's like any of that farming was necessary.

Love BotW. I'm planning on another playthrough soon; I missed roughly 20 shrines. I played through Nier a couple weeks ago. My thoughts are that the combat was super amazing, but I felt like the open world could have had a bit more to it.

Currently playing BotW. The more I play, the more it feels like Ocarina of Time for the modern age.
