Another question for the devs: Do you guys and girls agree with Guerrilla Games on this? "It's also a lot more demanding, because the production effort needed just to make a next-gen title now is not doubled; It's quadrupled." I know "effort" doesn't necessarily scale linearly with "cost", but have you noticed significant expansion within your development teams? Or is it just that a...

Anyway, to any of the devs contributing on here: When I next upgrade my PC (currently i5 2500k @ 4.5GHz + GTX 560ti SLI + 8 GB RAM @ 1600MHZ) what do you think will be the most beneficial upgrade? Would a switch to an AMD GPU help at all? Should I just go with as much vRAM as I can afford? Not looking to get a PS4 or Xbox One at this stage, I just want to be able to keep up with multiplats in...

People cancelling their PS4 preorders on Forums around the net.

@ Frequency: Do you generally agree with Shin'en's views on developing for the Wii U? Specifically that it's got enough power provided you code appropriately to take advantage of the hardware? Or do you find yourself hitting that 'glass ceiling' more often than you'd like?...

Thanks for the reply, it's nice to know that it's mostly business decisions that are driving publishers and devs away from Wii U development. That means it's up to Nintendo to fix the problem. Hopefully they can. Also, I wasn't aware that the Publisher/Developer relationship was so black and white. I thought that devs would hold some sway as to what they work on, but I guess the suits make all...

Within your circles is there any excitement at all among developers to work on Nintendo hardware? More specifically the Wii U? If you are able to give one based on your NDAs, I would appreciate a frank and honest answer....

Shuhei Yoshida: No Comment on 3DS Competition; Aims to Boost PS Vita With Games and PS4 Remote Play

in Gaming Discussion on 02 October 2013

Neither Nintendo or their competitors usually like to talk about Nintendo actually being a competitor for some reason. Like they're in their own space. I guess that's how I see them too to some extent. I guess it's because they tend to to their own thing (console life cycle, no power wars, games for everyone etc)....

UNITY - Nintendo & Wii U Finish The REVOLUTION

in Gaming Discussion on 10 August 2013

Even this financial year I don't see how they can reach their target. What has Iwata got up his sleeve? Surely his company's reputation can't afford for him to be way off in his estimations again. There must be something big coming after Christmas in Q1. That's the only way I can see those numbers happening....

Nintendo: Devs concerned over used sales should make better games

in Gaming Discussion on 13 June 2013

I also like how they pack all of the content onto the disc that's ready at launch. Holding content back so you can charge for DLC that's ready on launch day seems wrong to me when you're charging full price. If they do DLC, it's usually a big project like Super Luigi U....
