Wonder if you'll ever return to vgc, cause it sure is a great time to be a Dreamcast fan lol.

< Zisbest posted something on Assyrian612's wall:

No situation in gaming ever had me as hyped as the announcement of Shenmue III. I still almost can't believe it. In one way or another, the dream just keeps on living... and that is a great thing.

Exactly, that day was literally a miracle for me. I couldn't believe I've waited nearly 15 years and now finally Shenmue 3 is real. I donated $60 to the KS for the PS4 physical copy. I'm thinking about doing a let's play Shenmue and stream it over twitch!! How have you been broski?

    on 15 July 2015

I'm fine, thanks mate. Just living normal life, normal 7 to 5 job etc. I also donated $60 for a physical PS4 copy. This game is literally the only reason why I'll be getting a PS4 haha. I'd surely check in for the Shenmue stream. :)

    on 15 July 2015

That's good to hear brother, gotta deal with life in it's challenges and wonders. Tbo I'm very unimpressed with the 8th gen of consoles. The games mostly suck and have no quality. I'm actually sick of it. Shenmue 3 is a title that will bring life to the gen.. Along with ff7 of course.. I'm still debating the let's play lol idk if I have the patience to sit through and try and beat the entire shenmue games lol

    on 15 July 2015

I personally haven't been disappointed yet this gen. As usual I stick to Nintendo only and their 1st party titles delivered imo. Very happy with 8th gen. As for the other 2, I can't really say much. Their software doesn't really appeal to me as much. But then comes the mega ton that is Shenmue and oh boy. I now want and need to have a PS4.
Concerning your Shenmue playthrough, when was the last time you sat through the game? Cause if it's longer than one year ago you'll be surprised about all the little details and touches you may have forgotten about. But as you play through the game they all come back to memory and it should give you a satisfied/nostalgic feeling. (At least that's how it went for me.)

    on 15 July 2015

Well I've beaten Shenmue 1 (3-4 times) and Shenmue 2 about (2 times).. Also the last time I beat Shenmue was maybe 4-5 years ago so it's been a while. I know where all the hidden areas are and how the course of the game flows, but I kind of want it to be a simple walk through as if it was a rookie playing the game. At the same time I don't want to bore the people who might lose interest in the game. I'd either run it on twitch via PC setup and VGA DC connection or stream off the PS4 and play it via DC VGA connection. Not sure yet, but I think it's a nice idea for those who haven't played the game and would like to witness the story.

    on 15 July 2015

VGA DC? I'm in haha - that awesome quality. I just started a new save file a few weeks ago and can't finish it because I ran out of VMU space. :( I'd really like to watch a real connoisseur dive into it again while doing a good - SEGA worthy - commentary.

    on 15 July 2015

HAAHAA it really is superb quality, sadly I think there are better VGA adapters now, bcuz the one I have has little fuzzy lines vertically down the screen. The colors are truly amazing boosting the DC to 480P quality.. Come on this console came out in 1999.. The Wii uses 480P resolution lol.. I'm considering the stream; I have some relatives who would like to watch the play through.. If I figure it out, I might just do it. I'd definitely do some commentary, there's some really neat things in Shenmue which were online based features like the gold winning cans in the vending machines.. I really hope they make HD ports of 1 & 2.. I'm just so thrilled Shenmue 3 is real =P

    on 16 July 2015

I know right? I never thought it was gonna happen. But oh well, we can all see how that turned out. :P And the game looks superb as well imo. One of the best E3 weeks ever for me personally, I get my old SSB Melee main Roy in Smash 4 and Shenmue III gets announced haha.

    on 16 July 2015

This was the greatest E3 ever lol, but did you have any issues with kickstarter charging you the payment? I had to resubmit my payment method since I got an email saying my credit card declined the order. I literally freaked out, but I think it finally went through after recharging my credit card. Oddly, it should've just happened. I'm glad you got ROY in smash, my fingers are crossed for Snake. Knowing Konami though, MGS is done.. =/

    on 19 July 2015

MGS without Kojima... T_T and it's my 4th favourite video gaming franchise as well. :/ So be it though...
I didn't have any trouble with my Shenmue charge btw, just got an email which said 'your charge has been written off' and that's that, glad it went all smooth and easy.

    on 19 July 2015

I can confirm my payment has gone through for Shenmue 3.. You better believe we're in the winner's cirlce right now. We just funded what will be not only a miracle in gaming, but also one of the greatest games ever made. Shenmue 1 and 2 had amazing and great review scores.. I want Shenmue 3 to shatter those scores with perfect scores. I believe it can happen especially with Sony supervising the project. The quality of the game will be great. As for MGS, I'm still pumped for MGS 5.., I saw the E3 2015 trailer.... WOW.

    on 24 July 2015

We shouldn't worry about MGS at all. Kojima is still on board for MGSV after all. And it just looks glorious. But man, Shenmue III. As long as Mr. Suzuki is in charge, there's only the possibility of this being a masterpiece. He should take his time, I bet the fans wouldn't mind if it came out in 2018. Have you seen the most recent trailer - Lake of the lantern bugs? Just wow.

    on 25 July 2015

Yup I saw the trailer, it brings a nostalgic Dreamcast feel to it all. I haven't heard any updates from the game since than, but I'm happy to know it's finally in development. MGS5 is going to be amazing, I seriously am getting very impatient for it. I bought the collector's edition, but I didn't want to pay extra for day one shipping from gamestop. Had I ordered from amazon I would have gotten it day one. I might end up paying $12 extra just to get it one day one or I'd have to wait until Sept 14th :|

Hey there Assyrian, how has your Sega Collection been going? :D

Hey how have you been Zisbest? I thought about you earlier today when I logged into vgchartz lol, I've just been jammed up with essays and tests. Sorry for long time lack of communication. My Sega collection has remained as it was. I did buy a few other consoles like the PS4 20th anniversary and the New 3DS XL Majora's Mask Edition. To be honest, I've been bummed out with Sega's recent strategy to go mobile and PC only. I am hoping for another Sonic title instead of leaving us with Sonic Boom which I do play occasionally. However, I am extremely disappointed with Sega regarding PSO2. They have basically eliminated the ability to play the game at all. I do have my Dreamcast set up and ready to go online. Have you had any luck with your DC and going online? Any new games added to your collection? =)

    on 01 April 2015

Getting a DC online this day is a pain in the arse if I may say so. :/ No luck. Even so, I'm greatly enjoying the console, I will probably replay Shenmue soon. (I consider the Shenmue I + II story line to be my second fav. game) As of new games, well, I got ChuChu Rocket!!, which is a fun little puzzle game. Totally worth the 4 bucks. It's my 8th DC game as of now, though I always keep coming back for Crazy Taxi. Let me tell you, this game is addicting haha. As of other consoles, I'm 'supporting' all of my 'retro' consoles here and there. You know, a few PS2 games here and a DS gem there and so on... Though to tell you the truth, I haven't bought that many games recently, I'm also kind of stuck with exams at the moment, but this'll change by summer. Also, when I finally have a job, things will surely change a little since I'll then have more income to spend, whether it'd be on modern or retro games. Honestly, I'm playing with the thought of purchasing a Sega Mega Drive at the moment + Sonic 1 and 2 for the start. I know there are all means of emulation, but having the console set up and the games in their nice boxes is just different, that's the real deal. Hopefully this'll become reality once. (Soon I hope.) Also, please don't worry about not keeping up communication all the time, I know that exams can be very exhausting and time consuming. :D

    on 01 April 2015

Shenmue 1 + 2 are definitely top 5 for me in favorite video games of all time. I think with the DC online, we can get it up but it will take some work and understanding the concept behind the PD-DC server.. Basically if you have a PC we can get it online. You're looking at some great classics for DC. I really recommend Rayman 2, RE Code Veronica, and Ecco the Dolphin if you haven't gotten any of these yet. Also Tomb Raider the last revelations and chronicles were good games. You can also try Evolution 1 + 2, Grandia 2, and Timestalkers all great games. I think Skies of Arcadia is the top RPG though. I think it's awesome to collect old school consoles, I won the Master System, Genesis/mega-drive, Saturn, and Dreamcast. There are emulators on the internet for the DC that can give you the complete library of these console games. I wish I had owned the Genesis and Saturn boxes, I got them used unfortunately. I love new in box items. Lucky for me both my Dreamcasts were brand new, the white I am original owner and DC Sports Black I got brand new in box off ebay with a bunch of sealed games and accessories. Let me know if you need any more suggestions, I really wish we could play PSO.. I need someone to play with that will motivate me to get on the private servers!

    on 03 April 2015

Thanks for the Dreamcast suggestions, I'm certainly not done with that console yet, since I want to have a collection of at least 10 gems. And yes, boxed stuff is always great lol. Imagine my face when my parents wanted to get rid of some console boxes which I supposedly 'didn't need anyway'. (Thankfully they didn't) About the PSO dream... maybe it'll come true one day, but I've checked on so many possibilities and I think it's pretty much impossible for me to get this bastard online. :/

    on 03 April 2015

There is always a way bro, I think we just need to figure out exactly the way pc-dc server works. You can get free dial up services from common isps if I'm not mistaken. Aside from the DC I get on PS4 and Wii U to go online, do you have any online accounts? We can get on and try some games where we can actually play together lol =P

    on 15 April 2015

Yeah man, that would be great. :D I have a Wii U (great system) and I play online regularly. Though at the moment it's just Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. U. If you have any of these 2 and wanna go for a round of gaming sometime, just let me know, I'm up for it. My NNID: Zisbest

Another good Sega fan here on VGC!

Ohhh yeahhh, I wish Sega was still in the hardware market.. Looking at the market now its a damn shame what it has become w/o the good ol Sega brand

    on 31 August 2014

I really miss the times of good old After Burner, Altered Beast, Phantasy Star, Ecco, OutRun, Daytona.... Man, I wish they at least released sequels for all that IPs as 3rd parties and at least brought Phantasy Star Nova to the west.

    on 31 August 2014

I completely agree, but Sega's silence on PSO2 and PSO Nova is a complete disgrace on their customer service.. They are called Service Games for a reason, sadly this present Sega is not what it used to be.. I still am a die hard Sega and Sonic loyalist.. I will be buying Sonic Boom on Wii U and 3DS

    on 31 August 2014

The silence about Nova really worries me (I'm not counting on PSO2 anymore). I still have some hope that after acquiring Atlus they would localize more titles because Atlus is amazing with that.

Present Sega really isn't what it used to be. I'm watching Sonic Boom, but the Nintendo exclusivity really hurts me. I've surpassed my gaming budget because I got a PS4 right now and I'm planning on getting a Wii U, but not before the end of 2015. Unless of course I travel to the US since consoles here in Brazil are madly expensive.

Well, hey there my good Dreamcast friend. Now that all of my driving tests are over, I have way more time on my hands, so I thought we could figure out a way to get online. If you got some time on your hands as well, just post a message. :)

Welcome back Zisbest, how'd the tests go? I'm down to play Dreamcast online as I've got nothing really to do until Destiny comes out in September.. If you're ready and willing let's get to work on getting your DC online!! =)

    on 31 July 2014

Tests worked out well and I'd be very willing to get that Dreamcast online.

    on 31 July 2014

That's great news Zisbest, I will begin looking through the process of getting your DC online.. It may take a little time tho, this connection type is a very tricky one

    on 05 August 2014

Nice of you, thanks! =) Well, you know that dial-up won't work from the get go, because there are no such services available here any longer. :/ I'm curious how you think I'm gonna get it online.

    on 05 August 2014

Sorry for the late response, I've been jam packed with school.. According to the experienced DC users a dial up connection is possible via PC.. Meaning if you can get a free dial up service and use your pc to distribute the connection to your DC, you will connect with no trouble at all.. I am looking into the correct method needed to implement this idea.. There are supposedly step by step user guides on youtube that provide the necessary steps to successfully connect online.. I personally found a friend on PSO who used this method in Brazil.. Let's work together and make it happen!

    on 26 August 2014

Late replies are no worries at all, just respond when you have the time to do so :).
I've tried setting up a DC-PC server for a long time now, I just couldn't get it done. You on the ohter hand, seem to have some kind of idea on how to work out a connection. So yeah, I'd be willing to at least try to set up a DC connection again.

    on 26 August 2014

Hey Zisbest quick question.. Take a look at this setup guide and tell me if your pc-dc setup is similar to this guide?

    http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/guides/pc-dc-server-guide-win7/

    on 31 August 2014

Welp, this is exactly the guide which I've been working with. It doesn't seem to work, no matter what I try. It's like, I always mess up at some part or another and it's also kinda complicated for my simple mind. :(

    on 31 August 2014

I can agree, but I guess the best course is probably the dial up service.. SInce you say you can't get any sort of dial up connection, then the harder guide is the only way to do this.. I will look more into the setup.. You will need to burn some ISO files onto a CD-R disc.. Once I figure this setup out I will will give you links for proper burners and the ISO files needed

    on 31 August 2014

It's great that you're so positive. And burning CD's shouldn't be too much of a problem at all. If you figure something out, just let me know. :)

And that's about it. I don't have to offer too much compared to your collection, but I will keep on collecting. Maybe one day I'll get there.

Zisbest this is an awesome collection, I have shenmue for DC and shenmue 2 for xbox lol.. Lucky you got originals =) I recommend for your next purchase to get jet set radio!!! That game is by far one of the best all time DC games.. I'll post up my games collection soon, do you mind if I update my thread with your pics?

    on 04 July 2014

Well, thanks! :) I don't mind at all, just post my pics. Btw. I had plans on buying Jet set radio earlier, but I wasn't able to find a nice copy yet, but it's high on my 'to get' list.

    on 04 July 2014

Sorry for the delayed response Zisbest I've been really busy last few days.. When I get a chance I will update the DC thread =) also I could post pics of my Jet Grind Radio if you'd like. On the case with PSO I found out we could get you online through a dial up service.. I'm going to try and get full details on setup for you from YouTube!

    on 07 July 2014

Now worries about a delayed replay man. I'd also like to see the Jet Grind Radio, you'll make this thread even more awesome. =)
About the dial up stuff... I doubt it will ever work. :L Where I live there is no more dial up, not a chance. I can scratch that off the list right away unfortunately. The only way possible is a DC-PC server or the PC version. I know this sucks, but getting the Dreamcast online in Europe is a pain in the arse and even so, the connection would be slow as hell. :(

    on 07 July 2014

Well I updated the thread with your DC collection it's looking really good! Dial up service is free from the the guys at DC talk, they provided their dial up number, I think all you have to do is punch in the number they gave and boom you got free dial up.. I need to find the YouTube video that explains step by step set up of dial up, if you choose the DC-PC server you will have to modify an Ethernet wire.. I ran into to someone in South America on PSO who was using Dial up and he was connected just fine, I'm sure we can get you on dial up no worries!

    on 07 July 2014

Well, it's good you're looking at this so positively. I have to look into this more deeply, until then I'll have a look at the great DC thread. =)

    on 08 July 2014

Hahaa you really like my thread =) btw on the case about PSO.. What class and race did you choose? Also what's your guild card name, my race and class is Humar - Male Also my guild card is Assyrian612.. When I took these pics in my thread I had my Sega Sports DC connected with my Euphrates character, you'll notice that in my pics lol I have a new character though.. We really need to get online!!!!

    on 09 July 2014

I haven't played PSO in weeks. I'd have to check everything out again, but I have relatively little time at the moment due to driving classes. I'll tell you everything about my PSO in a few days when I've got more time on my hands.

    on 09 July 2014

I knew that a true Dreamcast fan could put this up... it's easy to follow and you might have gotten a few fellow DC gamers to try it out. Also, that collection! Boxed glory, you really are the kind of fan that nostalgic Sega deserves. Thus far, my DC collection grew to 7 games. :) We really have to play PSO one time.

Thank you Zisbest, I owe it to you for pushing the thread back for so long.. Thank you for your kind words, we are Dreamcast fans together! Btw I'ma look into that PC-DC server connection, I found some guys that did it and connect online currently with that setup. Thank you for complimenting my collection, I'd like to see your setup if you can get some pics together =) What games did you get bro? We will get on PSO let me work my magic =)

    on 25 June 2014

My setup? Well, it really pales in comparison to yours. :D The only thing that's really worth mentioning is a Boxed Shenmue II PAL copy. (in good condition) It may even be the rarest game I own across all systems.
Then there are: Shenmue I, Headhunter, PSO, Crazy Taxi, Metropolis Street racer and F1 world cup racer. I could post a picture if you want.

    on 25 June 2014

Ohh please you're flattering me!!! We are the same Dreamcast buddies regardless of our setup.. I would like to see your games, I have a good amount and some even sealed.. Most of my games are all cdi burned, but I did it to support the console's life cycle since we are the last of the breed left lol. Send me a pic, how does that exactly work?

The way you described PSO makes me wish I had the chance to play them. One thing is for certain though the Dreamcast was way ahead of it's time..

It was very much ahead of it's time; though one day it's time will come to an end. A lot of people consider it over now, but there is a strong loyalty for the console. I will follow it until it's final breath.. On the note of PSO, if you want to get into the experience there's ways to play it on PC for free and we can play even with a DC and PC cross platform play.. If it's too old of a game for you, you can join the PSO2 community and wait for the localization of PSO2.. You should check out the new PSO2 game play it is jaw dropping fun!

    on 23 June 2014

Hey it's no worries, I'll try my best to help get you the PC version, if not than just get hyped for PSO2.. Either way I'm glad you have found interest in PSO =P

    on 23 June 2014

I do! I played the original Phatnasy Star and I loved it. I also played the second one but never finished it. It's one of the greatest Sega granchises in my opinion.

    on 23 June 2014

It is the greatest franchise next to Sonic for SEGA.. I wish they knew this and actually did what the consumer is asking for.. You are definitely due for the PSO experience, the online Phantasy Star put's this game into a sci fi universe so enjoyable you will spend hundreds of hours playing.. I can only hope they release PSO2 for the west, go check out that website you'll be so excited!

    on 12 April 2014

No worries bro, if you can try to get PSO for PC and not blue burst. It seems to be having some connection bugs when cross platform playing with DC users

    on 13 April 2014

If you want I can make just a small thread of pics on how I connect the Dreamcast online. I know being a Dreamcast fan, seeing that baby connect brings smiles to my face. It's really special so if you'd like I could show you, just for Sega loyalty and fan appreciation =)

    on 14 April 2014

    Really bro? =)

That makes me happy, hopefully if you ever get your hands on a broadband you can follow this easy setup to get online. The setup I use requires code breaker, but on sylverant they just released a new cid image of PSO that requires nothing more then simply inputting that IP address into your Dreamcast. As soon as I get the setup set I'll tag you in the thread

Even though I'm sure it'd be really awesome to play PSO with my original Dreamcast, an ordinary schoolboy, such as me, just doesn't have the resources to buy a BBA for that one purpose only :/

Hopefully I will be able to play some PSO over my PC eventually, but as you said, time isn't running away and we're in no hurry. :)

I'm really interested in seeing your thread about the setup.

Sir, your sig is full of awesomeness!! Good old Sega times. Glad my SMS still works like new.

Ohhhh yeah thank you bro, it's nice to see there still are some loyal Sega fans still around these days. I'm a die hard Sega fan, I absolutely love my two Dreamcasts =)

    on 12 April 2014

Definitively there are some Sega fans around here. I'm just hoping that Sega brings Phantasy Star Nova to the west so I won't have to import it. And they should really made another After Burner because the last arcade one was awesome!

    on 12 April 2014

Exactly, I almost imported PSO2 for my ps vita from japan.. I just can't support something I won't understand what's going on. Supposedly there's a English version coming out for parts of South east Asia maybe then I would import that version for my PC. There was an after burner game that came out of the PSN and Xbox arcade stores. I think it was called after burner climax

    on 12 April 2014

Yes, After Burner Climax, that is the good one of the arcades. Sega release it on PSN and Live, but removed it from sale a long time ago. The same happened with the new OutRun ported from XBox/PS2. Good game, but they pulled it from PSN/Live (the Ferrari license they had ended and wasn't renewed, don't know what happened with After Burner).
Sega current localization efforts aren't good. PSO2 won't come to the west and I'm afraid PS Nova can suffer from this. I hope that the acquisition of Atlus makes Sega better in this aspect, since Atlus always was great at localizations.

    on 12 April 2014

Lucky for me I have After Burner, I also have TMNT reshelled that was pulled from the store too. I'm honestly already given up on PSO 2be localized here. Sega is completely dysfunctional and doesn't understand the nature of true gaming anymore. They've taken a soft approach by using Nintendo's standards of gaming. Milking Sonic like Mario. Sega is probably the only company next to Nintendo with a Garden of Eden plantation of gorgeous IP's that need to be revitalized. I honestly truly believe that catalog of gorgeous IP's will never be touched until Sega returns to the market... I believe that will be with a handheld. If Sony's Vita fails, then Sega will have a great opportunity to jump into the handheld market. Much safer market imo especially for Sega.

    on 13 April 2014

Yes, they are really milking Sonic, with serious quality issues. I believe they should return to their old game designs, Sonic 4 was showing really a good path to follow and New Super Mario Bros follows this 2.5D approach with high success.

    on 13 April 2014

I have both Sonic episode 1-2 for PS3 I loved those games. It was a great approach, but did you not like Sonic Generations? It was cool to go back to the classic Sonic and modern Sonic in that games. Two completely different styles of game play made it fun and exciting

    on 13 April 2014

Oh, I enjoyed it. Some Sonic games made as 3rd party were actually good (Generations, Heroes...). The pattern I observe is that they usually launch a good (or at least decent) game and follow it with a bad one and keep on a cycle. In the Genesis time you could count that each game would be pretty good and maybe even a masterpiece. The exclusivity deal with Nintendo is a problem for me too, I don't have a Wii U or 3DS and despite planning on getting the first, it won't be as soon as I would like it.

    on 13 April 2014

You know since Sonic Unleashed I've been impressed with every sonic game.. Just because it's not a financial smash success people automatically write off sonic, but to be honest I've loved all his games including Lost World.. This new Sonic Boom, I believe will put him in the right track for success. Only thing is can he create a new fan base of this generation that'll solidify him next to Mario. Old gamers like us know Sonic's place is already sealed, but he needs to get over the hump and become the gaming industries icon. Only then will Sega have a master trump card in their hand when Sonic is in the deal. Sonic success is Sega success. Sega success is our happiness

Well man it has finally happened! I have a working DC now, and some of the best games the system has to offer, like Shenmue I and II, Phantasy Star, Metropolis Street Racer and Headhunter. The only thing missing now would be to go online and play a game of kick ass phantasy star.

Yes finally congrats bro, we need to figure out how to get you connected online. Check your Dc Modem to know which phone modem you have.. There's two types A & B here's an example of what I mean.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamcast_Broadband_Adapter_and_Modem_Adapter

    on 04 April 2014

For the record, my modem number is 670-14116A so it's clearly A.

    on 04 April 2014

Okay and what kind of internet do you use? You might need a dial up provider, because a DC-PC server is way too complex for me to understand. If this is too complicated you could always play on PSO blue burst for PC. We can still connect together online.

    on 06 April 2014

I use a wireless connection. Unfortunately I have two problems with a dial up provider: first, there are pretty much no more around here, secondly, everyone in my family has a contract for a mobile, so I can't hook the thing to the wall anymore.

I tried the DC-PC server connection several times now and failed miserably at that :/

I think the best option would be to go with blue burst for PC. Actually, I have already connected to that and it works pretty good. So if I could play with you, the PC version would be the ideal way for me.

    on 07 April 2014

The reason you're not connecting to the PC-DC server is, because you have to modify your Ethernet cable to work like a phone cable. That only works with one of the two modems I can't remember which one A or B. Anyways we could definitely play cross platforms. Did you get the blue burst version set up?

    on 07 April 2014

Yup, Blue burst on my PC is set up. Unfortunatley I have very little time at the moment due to two exams this week, so I only will be able to fix this stuff in about a week from now on.

    on 07 April 2014

Not a problem at all bro, I'm jam packed with quizzes and an essay this week.. Just let me know, we'll connect through sylverant.net to play pso

    on 07 April 2014

Alright let's work on it in one week.

    on 07 April 2014

Sounds like a plan bro =)

Alright, so I will probably enjoy PSO, the original, offline on my DC. You said something about PC set up... I'd like to have a look at it if you don't mind :)

Sorry I've been a little busy, I'm going to hunt silverant website for the instructions asap =)

    on 18 March 2014

Hm... I might be able to pull this one off. Maybe we can play PSO soon the DC :)

    on 18 March 2014

Oh really? What is your solution to get the DC online?

    on 19 March 2014

Well, I've read a tutorial online, http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9630 this one to be exatc, which tells me on how to setup a DC-Server my own. So the DC 'calls' my notebook, the notebook answers and redirects the DC to my internet. It's not working yet, but I try my best.

    on 20 March 2014

I tried that method before I got the bba, I think you need a specific model of the modem labeled B or A.. one of these two modems then has to be connected to a ethernet that is rewired. The phone dial goes through your laptop to your DC making the DC believe it is connecting to SegaNet. If you get it to work then you'll save all that money for a BBA =) I just got a BBA for its rarity and easiness to connect online

    on 22 March 2014

And btw the phone modem connectivity will require codes used through codebreaker to bypass the security check for SegaNet.. Was this note in that link you sent?

    on 22 March 2014

Well... I'd really like to try and connect it to the internet all day long, but there are a number of problems.

First my DC suffers from the reset bug, this means I have to bring it back to the store to get it fixed. (thanks to the warranty)
Secondly, I don't even own a VMU yet. Stupid me... The thing is I can't seem to get any around my hometown and amazon sells them for 'only' 35€

At the moment I think the best option for me would be to go with the PC version.

    on 22 March 2014

By the way, I love how the 5 games you added is pretty much the total library on why I got a Dreamcast. =)

    on 22 March 2014

What do you mean reset bug? We're in no rush to play bro, I'd really like it if you got online with your Dreamcast.. I need another Dreamcast friend to play with on PSO =) Btw If you would like I can give you a website that'll give you the Dreamcast's entire library of games for free =) Those games are amazing try out Resident Evil Code Veronica it's one of my all time favorites on DC

    on 25 March 2014

The reset bug is a stupid error occurring on many DC systems (including mine) This means that the system resets every so and so often... (Could be an hour, could be 2 minutes)

But yeah, I'll let you know when my DC is fixed and I'm able to go online. :)

    on 25 March 2014

    Can't wait bro =)

    on 26 March 2014

You know how it feels, if you want to play online... you have the game lying around and just can't get a connection. yeah it's pissing me off pretty badly =(

    on 28 March 2014

Trust me bro, in the end all that stress to play it online is worth it. I can't believe Dreamcast had a game that fluid with online play so perfect. I could be on pso for days online.. We need to help you get online somehow.. First any luck with the DC reset bug?

    on 01 April 2014

Nope... first I have to get my DC back then we'll see :)

    on 01 April 2014

< Zisbest posted something on Assyrian612's wall:

Thanks for the invitation to play some online! If I can get my dreamcast to play Phantasy Star Online I will join in for sure ;)

Hell yeah bro let me know, I've been waiting for another DC player to get online with. We could also set up a DC and GC link through the servers. So while we're on DC another person could be on GC playing PSO with us.. Btw which PSO ver did you get?

    on 13 March 2014

Just ordered it from amazon. Have to look at the version when it arrives. I hope I will be able to connect the DC to the internet...

    on 14 March 2014

Ah man things are not looking to good... I can't set up the internet, so unfortunately I won't be able to play D: I'd have loved too though...

    on 14 March 2014

There's a few ways to connect.. One is Broadband adapter which is best, but priciest method. Second is dial up modem which is standard in DC's. Here's a link on the steps to connect.

    http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/guides_getonline.php

    on 14 March 2014

Thanks, I will have a few days before PSO arrives anyway, so I'll let you know if I did it :)

    on 14 March 2014

Anytime, let me know if you need any help setting up the DC =)

    on 14 March 2014

    It's sooo unfortunate! From where I live, Austria, there's basically no way on how I can connect to the internet with my DC D: First I don't have a connection for my phone, second there is no Dial Up service available here. The only way would be to buy a broadband adaptar... those things are too expensive. Ahhh... and I've tried for such a long time :{

    on 14 March 2014

Okay so the dial up scenario is out of the question, leaves us with two choices.. The BBA or a different system to play pso. By that I mean either PC blue burst or Gamecube. Either one will work and the PC doesn't require much since you already have internet. If you really want to play on Dreamcast, you have to do what I did and buy a BBA. Yes they are pricey as hell, but it is one of the rarest accessory for the DC. If you don't mind gamecube or PC let me know I can forward the set up guide for you
