This isn't a way to flame you, I just thought you should get what you asked for, and that is links to everything. So here's the explanations for everything you asked for.

    1. It is not a spin-off of Xenosaga. It has nothing to do with Xenosaga or Xenogears. Xenoblade X might, but Xenoblade did not.

    2. Xenosaga was a Namco IP, Xenogears was a Square IP, Xenoblade is a Nintendo IP.

    3. Nintendo bought 80% of Monolith Soft in 2007.

This makes them a first party developer.

In a meeting about Soma Bringer, Takahashi had the idea for Xenoblade, he promptly pitched it to Nintendo and they accepted. The game was called "Monado, The Beginning of the World."

This game originally had nothing to do with the Xeno series, but was later renamed to honor Takahashi.

Regardless of all that. The game released under Nintendo when Nintendo held 96% of Monolith Soft. They are a first party developer, and a subsidiary of Nintendo.

    They are Nintendo.

I loved your thread. You made up so much stuff that it had to be locked. I couldn't post in it because I was late to the party. Just wanted to thank you here for the enjoyment.

I'm glad. I can see why you're here just by your avatar.

    on 19 April 2014

Because I recently played InFamous:Second son and loved it? I love some Nintendo games too.

    on 19 April 2014

Your point? I can tell you're the type to hate on all critiques associated with your preferred interests. Just because I think the last of us is overrated mean doesn't I made stuff up about it. If you read my posts you'd know why I didn't think it was great.

    on 19 April 2014

I did read your posts, that's why I know they were made up. I got a laugh at watching everyone rip through everything you said. One ridiculous example is when you talked about game play length. The game was not 2 hours of game play, it's a 15+ hour game that has only 94 minutes of cut scenes. If a mod can see through the BS, you made it obvious. If you're going to do a thread like this again at least be fair with critiques.

    on 19 April 2014

I said 2 hours for 20$. I bought mine for almost 70 dollars so.

20 x 2/ 70 % = 5.7 hours. Minus the story that is about how long I spend on it on my first play through.

For the record, you said "Original story. Typical zombie fare."

So you think it has an original story. Go back to read what you wrote...Please.

I think I ran out of posts or something. Also, that was a typo. Seeing as it contridicts everything else I wrote.

What is your opinion on vigors in Bioshock Infinite?

Pretty cool. I liked the traps and the controlling the machines one. It was tight.

    on 18 April 2014

You could play the whole game without using them. How come you like that, but the crafting was useless. They were absolutely the same for me cool gameplay additions, but non essential.

Anyway, it's completely for me when someone dislikes a game that I like or thinks that it's overrated. I just don't like it when the points they're making are false or unfair.

I agree that the AI could have been better for example.

    on 18 April 2014

    completely fine*

    on 18 April 2014

I just found it so out of the way to be worth the effort aside from the bombs and the health packs. The vigors, though, were actually somewhat helpful, especially towards the end.

Yeah, I thought the story was awful, and that was my main gripe with it. That wouldn't been so prevalent if it wasn't so forced on you. It didn't give me any incentive to want to see the story end with that nagging little girl following me around throughout this generic world.

Like I said, I liked the game, I just think it's like 20 dollars for 2 hours of game, that felt like a watered down version of Resident Evil.

    on 18 April 2014

Story is subjective so I can accept that you didn't like it. Generic world though? what does that mean? It is meant to be a post apocalyptic America and it pulled it off. It isn't meant to be this magical fantasy world. So I don't get that criticism. And it isn't a 2 hour game that's a lie.

So how I see it your valid criticisms are: Bad story, bad characters (or maybe just Ellie), bad AI.

    on 18 April 2014

The reason I thought the world was tired is the same reason I thought the story was bad.
it wasn't original at ALL. True the world is gorgeous but it's not like it isn't something seen in many other game on the market, especially in this genre. I see the whole zombie setting as done to death and it doesn't help that it felt like resident evil without the depth.

I thought the game was generally uninspired. Though,
It was still a good game.

2 hours for 20$. I bought mine for almost 70 dollars so.

Finished Xenogears, so I sure probably remove it from 'currently playing'. As for the game, it was awesome. One of the best games I've ever played. The story was epic but confusing and I'm still thinking about it.

Now I just wonder why people don't make games this deep with story and gameplay. Maybe I'll find out when I go through Xenoblade finally.

    Have you ever played Final Fantasy 7 & 8 & 9 & 10?

And Final Fantasy 3 (slow start in storyline) & Final Fantasy 4?

The Japanese have very talented writers as shown with a bunch of their anime's as well, like:

    Dragonball Z

    Dragonball GT

    YuGiOh 5D's

    Trinity Blood

    Full Metal Alchemist

    Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

    Big O

    Chrono Crusade

Anyways I hope they go back to such deep storyline in 8th Gen games, maybe with Bravely Default & Pandora's Tower (7th Gen) since I haven't played any of these games yet.

I'm.....whoah! Amazing selection for Currently Playing Games! Those are 3 of the best JRPG's I've ever played. Anyway, I'm just about to go to bed, I'll reply to your post tomorrow.

Alright. I had to reply late, too (work)

    on 24 March 2013

So how was Nier? I've heard good things about that game.

    on 24 March 2013

Oh I hated it. It starts off really good, and the game could have been an amazing game, but the developers clearly had a limited budget and made various decisions to extend the games length for cheap, which I hated.

For example there are 4 endings to the game. When you beat the game once, you get one ending, then to unlock the other two you have to replay the exact same game from the mid way point, and for the last one you just have to beat the boss of the game and choose the other ending option.

What's really annoying is that, not only do you play the exact same game (no alterations to the bosses, or branching story), but the endings you unlock are super short, and super lame. Plus you never ever find out or fix the issue at the start of the game.

No spoilers, but you never find out why humanity nearly went extinct in the past (You know it's because of a Black Curse, but what caused this?) and you never find out how to cure your daughter (but randomly she does get cured at the end for no explained reason).

It's really annoying, it's like playing XenoBlade and not finding out why the Mechonis attacked Colony 9, and why those giants exist.

Drakengard was much much better because the other endings were branching story-lines which reflect different decisions or responses from allies in the game. The story was deeper, more interesting, and better fleshed out, and the ending was really f***ed up, but explained and well...... Good. Nier was just a shell of a game (No pun intended, you'll get it if you beat the game).

    on 24 March 2013

I see. So maybe Drakengard is a better choice? Yeah, nothing is more irritating in a RPG than an incomplete story. It sort of makes the entire story pointless. I should probably hold off on Nier then.

Also (Off-topic) do Canadian really say 'eh' often?

    on 25 March 2013

Drakengard 1 is a much better choice, but the gameplay can be a bit tiresome after a while. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better then Nier. So yes hold off on Nier, the 3 you're currently playing will blow your mind. Push Nier back as far as you can.

Very good, it's like my favorite game for PS1. That graphics are simple, so id say it still looks good. I definitely recommend it if you can find a copy, or get it on PSN. =D
