No. FFXIII is a big hit to the PS3. A huge one actually. But I am not sure how much it would have driven console sales. I think if the PS3 ever wants to sell consoles in mass, it needs to lower the price by a lot.
By the time FFXIII was going to release, the PS3 would still be the same price (or close to it). MGS4 showed that no matter how great a game is, $400 is still $400. (more in other countries).
Sony is hurting, and will never catch the Wii, but it will surpass the 360 lifetime, even with the huge loss.
Then again, MS is doing everything they should do to win. If the next 360 (the 60gig model) actually removes the RRoD issue, they have a great chance of coming back.
It's a close call, but I still think Sony has enough to keep it in second place.
