 I think it would be a good idea sales wise and definatly hurt the Wii, but the Wii would win in the end. The common buyer wants the newest and best thing. Not to mention the fact that such an obvious copy cat model would lower public support.

-What sells better an Apple's iPod or Sony's cheaper MP3 Walkman?

-What sells better, BOSE noise-cancelling headphones for $200, or the just-as-good Creative noise-cancelling headphones for $49?

   

Anyway, if this rumor is true in one year people will look and see there are two consoles with motion sensing. One came out a year a half ago, one is 8 years old. Add to the fact that there has been a huge media hype over the Wii, and more people will probably go for that option.

And the fact that this would split the Sony devs in half, lower support for the PS3. Still, it would hurt the Wii sales a bit, no denying that.
