My favorites are usually JRPG, doesnt matter if its turnbased/action/tactics/openworld/etc, I find value its individual traits, and I find the experience equally satisfying if the game is good. I do get nitpicky on the setting tho, I preffer a fantasy/sci-fi classic setting. I dont like it at all when the game feels it has a contemporary vibe. Specially school settings, I could never get into those.
That said, this particular gen I feel WRPGs won me over. Bloodborne and Witcher 3 in particular are amongst my favorites of all time now.
