I really hope the video game culture can just chill for a bit about all this. For something that is supposed to fill us all with joy, it amazes me how often our favorite hobby results in anger and meanness. I'm sure Nintendo has some reason for what they're doing, and if not I'm sure that maybe they're reading the negative buzz on this and working on solutions.

But at the end of the day, Like Pokemon Sword and Shield, we're all going to buy it and love it and appreciate it for what joy it does give us, regardless of its limitations. I'm not sure we need to attack each other over these things, though. At the end of the day all systems have limitations and working around those limitations often gives us the most happiness. So once the game is released I won't be surprised to see how many work arounds people find that make all this conversation moot.

But as for me, I'm not really sure it even matters that much. If someone is playing Animal Crossing on my Switch, I gosh darn hope they're playing on my island. That is one of the coolest parts of Animal Crossing.
