The games you mention have significant appeal in the west. Demon's Souls was relatively new idea at the time, Bloodborne was essentially more of that. I would classify them as action games.

Anyway, this is a wait and see thing. Their significance in Japan has decreased with their exit in the mobile market. They've virtually given up Japan centric games.

I dont really even care, I just have some thoughts. I dont feel we really need to explore this any further.

I'm still quite confused with the  term "Japan centric games" you're using. Persona 5, Last Guardian, Street Fighter 5, several entries in the "souls" series, Final Fantasy VII Remake and also weird titles like Deracine (in cooperation with From Software again).

So yeah, it's normal that a company with such global representation will have titles that have global appeal, beyond the specific region where they are created. I don't see how this in any way bad.

If something, the Japanese market has moved more heavily towards mobile gaming, but that's a cultural shift and not necessarily representative of a lack of appealing games. Apparently when the strategy was one of catering to 2 audiences, things didn't go so well on the handheld space, although I still love my PSP and Vita till this day.

I see Sony as a western focused company. People say theyre global, but a vast majority of their world sales are in the west.

Much of their decisions seem to start with this question, "does the west want this?" And I think thats a logical strategy. But people get annoyed when I say their focus is primarily the west and they've leaned more into that over time. Other regions are more like an after thought but a nice bonus in comparison. That's my view.
