You needa check the definition of lighthearted then, silly things most certainly entertain and amuse. The Metroid games I've played (Super, Prime 3, Hunters) have no humor or charm in them whatsoever to lift spirits/lighten the mood, whereas Hollow Knight is full of it.

I wouldnt have a problem with that, Solid Snake seemed completely out of place for me and I think he fit just fine simply because its not his own game and I dont take seriously how he is depicted in Smash, in the same vein I wouldnt expect every aspect of the Hollow Knight character in Smash to fit the "dark" tone of its own game - and either way I dont think it would matter cause the character itself moves like an automaton and that's what I'd expect from its animation. And the character could be Hornet and not the Knight, but either way works for me. Other than that I honestly could easily see a Colosseum of Fools - themed stage for the game.
But either way its fine, we dont have to agree.

I don't think you meant to quote me, but yes I'd love for the stage to be the Colosseum, that way we get to see some Zote action! Hornet being the playable character makes sense as well to hype up Silksong, and so one of her taunts can be "git gud!" I don't think it'll happen simply because it's an indy game, but Undertale getting a bit of representation does give hope.
