The cuts for the Sw/Sh dex were worse than even the most pessimistic predictions

This argument I simply don't understand.

Whatever happened to the regional dexes of Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos and Alola.

What's there to not understand? Instead of simply adding to an existing, slowly-building dex, I can start all over in a new region. It means that, for the first time in a decade, I truly feel like I'm exploring a whole new world again! I can't just skip 90% of the pokemon because I already have them. This time I DON'T already have all the returning pokemon because the game doesn't have them all. To me, getting Charmander might actually be important, and I'll have to do all that stuff again with the breeding and evolving in a new place! 

I'm excited and this feels like Gen 1 again, in an odd way. If you chose not to look at it from that perspective, I understand that, but I love this.
