LoD is one of the most westernized JRPGs out there already. It's action oriented even as it's turn based. It's soundtrack was made by both an american composer and a japanese one. They made magic a side part of the gameplay which is only accessed normally by items and specially in dragoon mode, humans don't simply cast spells or something. They made sure the chars were grounded and realistic, the woman in my signature was originally designed having green hair and they changed it to black to look like a real woman instead of a fantasy character. There is a lot of fantasy on the game for sure, but americans where much more attracted to the game than the japanese, it sold more than double in USA than JPN. |
Yes, that is why is why I said I wouldn't mind a fully westernized reimagining because artistically it lends itself to that style. I was more thinking mechanically as its very Japanesy and I couldn't see a western developer adhering those systems.
