We are not asking for new “IP” we are asking for new worlds. Can you remember stepping into the Mushroom Kingdom for the first time? Can you remember infiltrating your first alien planet in Metroid? Can you remember taking down a bogey on slippy’s tail? Can you remember Olimar reviewing his discoveries, marooned on a world of strange giants.

By this standard, we must banish Labo and 1-2 Switch from the conversation. ARMS, Sushi Striker(?), Astral Chain...not bad I guess, but I am having trouble seeing a big standout among those games. Maybe the problem is the rest of Nintendo’s output overshadows the new stuff now...

This the problem, you're asking for not new ideas, but new properties that rival the likes of Nintendo's long-standing greats. You can't exactly do that on the first try, nor do you have to be the next big thing all the time. Besides, with a new IP, I'm more interested I new gameplay ideas than the new world's. Give me something that plays like something new, rather than just same gameplay with a fresh coat of paint.

If that's what ya want ya don't need to frame it as new IP. You can have new gameplay ideas using existing worlds and characters too as we've seen. We're about to get Luigi's Mansion 3, and while it's the third game in the series, it's still the only game that plays like it does afaik, with the previous entry being 6 years old now. Surely you'd want new ideas to be further enhanced and expanded upon rather than one and done.
