Friday news, the last part:

Get ready for a game about hunting the most dangerous prey of all: mushrooms
https://www.pcgamer.com/get-ready-for-a-game-about-hunting-the-most-dangerous-prey-of-all-mushrooms/
I've collected my share of mushrooms in videogames: they're used for everything from potion-making to nourishment to crafting poisons to making an Italian plumber double his height. But Morels: The Hunt is a game specifically about collecting mushrooms. Explore the wilderness of the United States, hunt and gather different mushrooms, experience different regions and seasons, and use the in-game camera to photograph wildlife. Check out the serene and beautiful trailer above.

Later Alligator is utterly adorable and out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/later-alligator-is-utterly-adorable-and-out-now/
Perhaps it's due to the pressures of modern living, but I've got a soft-spot for harmless, absurdist comedy a mile wide, which is why Later Alligator—out today—has been on my personal wishlist since it was announced. It's a mystery point-and-click comedy adventure about a city full of awkward cartoon alligators. It's produced by visual novel studio Pillow Fight and animation team SmallBü, creators of the endearing, enduring and utterly nonsensical Baman Piderman series on YouTube.

Apex Legends Season 3 reveal confirms that Crypto is coming
https://www.pcgamer.com/apex-legends-season-3-reveal-confirms-that-crypto-is-coming/
Respawn has finally made it official: The next Apex Legends character is the stylish hacker Crypto. An Apex Legends Season 3 primer says the new fighter is "calm, cool, collected," and uses specialized surveillance drones "to stay in the fight and out of the spotlight."

Neo Cab demo lets you try your hand at cyberpunk taxi driving
https://www.pcgamer.com/neo-cab-demo-lets-you-try-your-hand-at-cyberpunk-taxi-driving/
Neo Cab is a stylish cyberpunk game about Lina, a human cab driver—possibly the last—living and working in the AI-controlled city of Los Ojos. But it's not a driving sim: Developer Chance Agency described it last year as "an emotional survival game about gig labor, tech disruption and the experience of being a driver-for-hire." That has me interested.

The bug preventing GTA 5 from being playable offline has been fixed
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-bug-preventing-gta-5-from-being-playable-offline-has-been-fixed/
When the Rockstar Games Launcher appeared earlier this week the Steam version of Grand Theft Auto 5 suddenly stopped being playable in offline mode. Rockstar were quick to announce that this was a bug, and they hadn't made any changes to GTA 5's DRM.
The bug has now been fixed, and there's a ticket for it on Rockstar's support site. Here's the full text of it.

Enjoy some asshole goose behavior in the launch trailer for Untitled Goose Game
https://www.pcgamer.com/enjoy-some-asshole-goose-behavior-in-the-launch-trailer-for-untitled-goose-game/
Indie studio House House's Untitled Goose Game releases on September 20, and so here is a launch trailer to celebrate the fact. Enjoy seeing a real jerk of a goose untie a boy's shoelace, steal his toy plane, and then when the boy trips over while chasing the goose, take his glasses. Wow, what an asshole that goose is.

Commune with the animal gods in free ritual game Stones of Solace
https://www.pcgamer.com/commune-with-the-animal-gods-in-free-ritual-game-stones-of-solace/
We could all do with a little time out to meditate each day, and while I'm doubtful one can achieve inner peace while futzing about on a computer, you might find a space for a bit of digital relaxation with the neat Stones of Solace. It's one of those games that differs each day you play it, here presenting you with an idol that changes to a different animal every day. One day it's a bird, the next it's a wee octopus, or a monkey.

Shenmue 3 backers can request a Steam key, but they might not get one
https://www.pcgamer.com/shenmue-3-backers-can-request-a-steam-key-but-they-might-not-get-one/
Shenmue 3 backers can request refunds or change their version of the game from today, developer Ys Net has announced. Emails are being sent out to confirm what version you're getting, and any changes can be made from there. One of the options is to get a Steam key when the timed Epic exclusivity ends, but it looks like that's not actually a done deal.

Voting is now open for the 37th Golden Joystick Awards, giving you the terrifying responsibility of picking—once and for all—the very best games of the last year.
Along with games, you can cast your vote for the best studio and, as of this year, best hardware. It's joined by a second new category, which shines a spotlight on the best expansions and updates.
