Yeah, that is bull. See, for people in power who don't want to change the status quo, because they are in power and profit from the current way things are going, for them everyone who wants to change things very similar. But for everyone else, so people who are hurt by the current system, for them different ways to change the system make a big difference. Because it is not enough to want to change things, it is important into what and how.
