With Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and New Light now just two weeks away, Bungie has dropped a new vidoc overview of everything that's coming in the first season of year 3. Much of it recaps things that are already know, such as the major armor rework, but there are a few hints at new things too.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare crossplay details revealed
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-crossplay-details-revealed/
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare open beta running this weekend will include crossplay between PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. We've previously theorized that the feature won't mean much to PC players because it's input-based, meaning that players will be matched up based on whether they're using controllers or mouse and keyboard. We may have been a little premature on that, though, as Activision revealed today that mouse and keyboard control setups will be officially supported on consoles.

Anthem will get 'seasonal updates' rather than the previously announced acts
https://www.pcgamer.com/anthem-will-get-seasonal-updates-rather-than-the-previously-announced-acts/
In February, BioWare explained how Anthem's post-launch content would be released in updates called "acts," which would add new locations, features, and character interactions, and ultimately culminate in a world-changing "Cataclysms" that would set the stage for the next act.
Today, BioWare announced that plans for future Anthem acts have been shelved so developers can work on more long-term, systemic fixes to the game. Instead, Anthem will get "seasonal updates" that head of live services Chad Robertson said "will deliver challenges and chases similar to what you’ve seen, and are built around some fun themes we’re bringing to the game."

Subnautica: Below Zero update adds very large ice worms and new areas
https://www.pcgamer.com/subnautica-below-zero-update-adds-very-large-ice-worms-and-new-areas/
Subnautica sequel Below Zero, which is in early access on Steam and the Epic Store, now includes an above-zero chance of encountering a leviathan-class Ice Worm. It takes a very large worm to earn the 'leviathan' descriptor, and from the looks of the trailer above, our new friend doesn't disappoint.

You can get a free Sea of Thieves cannon skin on Talk Like a Pirate Day
https://www.pcgamer.com/you-can-get-a-free-sea-of-thieves-cannon-skin-on-talk-like-a-pirate-day/
International Talk Like a Pirate Day is a parody holiday type of thing thing, recognizable by the way that people celebrating it say "Arr" and "Yarr" occasionally over the course of the day.
The day is relevant to us right now because when it comes around this year, Sea of Thieves players can score Obsidian cannons by watching certain Twitch streams with their linked accounts. The guns are a nice enough piece, I suppose—a little dull compared to some, really—but the hook is that they'll be part of a set, along with the Obsidian figurehead, hull, sails, and flag that Rare gave away during a Twitch Rivals event in June. Those items aren't available for purchase from the Sea of Thieves shipwright, and I don't expect the cannon skin will be either, so if you want it, this is your chance.

Rockstar says Grand Theft Auto 5's offline mode was disabled by a bug, not the launcher
https://www.pcgamer.com/rockstar-says-grand-theft-auto-5s-offline-mode-was-disabled-by-a-bug-not-the-launcher/
Rockstar rolled out a new game launcher for PC today, which came with a free copy of the great Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas—and, shortly after people got their hands on it—reports that it also changed the Steam version of Grand Theft Auto 5 to disable offline mode. Rockstar has confirmed that this did in fact occur, but said that it's a bug, not an intentional modification, and that no changes were made to the GTA5 DRM.

https://www.pcgamer.com/cube-world-beta-will-kick-off-next-week-but-you-need-alpha-access-to-play-it/
After half a decade of silence, Cube World re-emerged this month with news that it will launch on Steam later this year. But if you're among those who purchased the alpha version of the game years ago, here's good news: a beta kicks off on September 23, and owners of the current game will get a Steam code dropped into their Picroma account.

Free adventure Penitent Dead evokes FromSoftware's atmospheric PS1 games
https://www.pcgamer.com/free-adventure-penitent-dead-evokes-fromsoftwares-atmospheric-ps1-games/
Fear not, I'm not about to compare the excellent Penitent Dead to Dark Souls. That would be rather lazy. No, I'm going to compare it to King's Field, and to Shadow Tower, two of FromSoftware's early games. It's the closest a game has come to the smeary, leaden ambiance of those atmospheric PlayStation games, and I love it for it, even if I couldn't figure out how to end the game (or even if I could).

https://www.pcgamer.com/elite-dangerous-september-update/

The highlight of the update is the New Starter Experience, introducing the game to new players, though there's also new stuff for veteran pilots.

Disco Elysium gets an October release date and a new trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/disco-elysium-gets-an-october-release-date-and-a-new-trailer/
Disco Elysium is a detective RPG where your skills talk to you, sometimes chiming in with some insight into a case, sometimes just telling you to drink yourself stupid. It's odd. It's also launching very soon. You'll be able to have a chat with yourself on October 15, but in the meantime you can watch the features trailer above.
